If you’re travelling in wet or stormy conditions:

🌧️ Slow down and adjust your speed to the conditions
🚗 Increase your following distance
💡 Switch on your headlights and make yourself visible
📵 Keep your phone away and your attention on the road
💧 Never drive through flooded roads or water when you cannot safely judge the depth
⚡ If conditions become too dangerous, rather find a safe place to stop and wait it out

A few extra minutes on your journey are always worth it.

🎀 eMALAHLENI SHOWED UP IN PINK! 💗

What a beautiful morning at today’s Bettie Bandana Fun Walk!

It was wonderful to see our community come together, dressed in pink and walking side by side to raise awareness for breast cancer. 🎀

Today we walked for those currently fighting, celebrated the survivors, supported the families walking this journey alongside someone they love, and remembered those we have lost. 💗

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped organise today’s walk and to every person who came out and took part.

Seeing so much pink, support and community spirit in one place was something special. 💕

🎀 Today, We Wear Pink 🎀

Today, on Breast Cancer Awareness Day, we pause to recognise the women and families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

💗 To those currently fighting — we stand with you.
💗 To the survivors — we celebrate your strength.
💗 To the families and friends walking beside someone they love — we see you.
💗 And to those we have lost — we remember you.

Today is also a reminder to know your body, be aware of changes and never put off speaking to your healthcare provider if something doesn’t feel right.

This Saturday, our eMalahleni community will come together in pink for the Bettie Bandana Fun Walk, and we look forward to seeing our community show up for such an important cause. 🎀

In just 9 days, men across South Africa will pull on their purple Speedos and take part in the 2026 Hollard Daredevil Run — making some noise for a very important cause: men’s health and awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.

Attention motorists travelling on the R555 between eMalahleni and Middelburg.

We have been advised that roadworks will be taking place on the R555 this week.

If you regularly travel this route, please allow a little extra time for your journey and be prepared for possible delays.

🚗 Reduce your speed through work zones
🚧 Obey temporary road signs and traffic controllers
↔️ Keep a safe following distance
👷 Be mindful of road workers and equipment
❤️ Please be patient with other road users

If you encounter stop-and-go controls or delays, don’t take unnecessary chances to make up lost time once traffic starts moving again.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀

This October, Feilims Recovery is adding a little pink to our usual red and green in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗

Behind every diagnosis is a person — a mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, colleague or neighbour — and a family walking the journey alongside them.

This month is an important reminder to know your body, be aware of changes and make your health a priority. Early detection matters.

To those currently undergoing treatment, to the survivors, to the families supporting someone they love, and in memory of those we’ve lost:

We see you. We support you. We stand with you. 🎀

And later this month, we hope to see plenty of our eMalahleni community dressed in pink for the Bettie Bandana Pink Fun Walk on 24 October. 💕
