On Saturday 20 June 2020, Business Extra was proud to connect

NaMtolo Bathobile of BATHOBILE BOOKKEEPING SERVICE (Pty) Ltd.
with
Kelvin Mnguni of THE VINEYARDS LIFESTYLE.

Also joining us in our sit together was the very ambitious NDUMISO GININDA, a young man who started and managed a private lounge in Reabota that used to host private sessions for celebrities.
Ndumiso left the restaurant and events business and now wishes to venture into manufacturing with the help of BUSINESS EXTRA.

The case of Kelvin Mnguni
Kelvin Mnguni was facing the common problem of every starting out entrepreneur in terms understanding and managing the finances of the business as well as to seperate it from his personal life.

Case of NaMtolo Bathobile
NaMtolo Bathobile was on her quest to doing volunteer work for upcoming and small businesses to understand how to build a company's bookkeeping department from scratch as well as to perfect her understading of profession.

From there, it was only a matter of introducing the two.

Bathobile Bookkeeping Services is a Witbank based bookkeeping service business that was started by NaMtolo Bathobile in 2019.

Service businesses like bookkeeping are the necessary services all entrepreneurs need from the minute they start making purchases to setup up their business to the point where they start welcoming their first client.

Here are some of the highlights of how we helped her :

1) Understanding her profession and building a business profile

Although she doesn't have to perfect her profession, she must be able to know what happens when a bookkeeper services a client for management and hiring purposes.

To achieve this, Bathobile was advised to offer volunteer work, especially to micro and small businesses. This is for very specific reasons :
* Understanding how to build client accounts from scratch.
* Learning how to grow her bookkeeping department with a client.
* Learning how to give clients strategic advice even with limited resources.

CHALLENGES
a) Service professionals focus too much time perfecting their profession and too little time on learning how to find clients.

b) Its difficult to find a value proposition to a client unless you are an internal employee.

SOLUTION
To solve this, we used our understanding of how businesses operate to show Bathobile Bookkeeping Services how to analyze any business from outside so she can understand what kind of bookkeeping services they might need for present and future.
This is will be easy for her to build a tailored business proposal for the target client rather than a general proposal that a client is most likely to reject.

BUILDING A TOP CLASS FOOD BUSINESS.

Business Extra has been working with Kelvin Mnguni on his business.

Situated in Middelburg, is a food service business that creates top quality and creative food options.

The main focus this week was his serving of desserts.

Here is a highlight of what we have worked on to improve this section of his business.

1) Production and Operations Efficiency
* Purchasing of tools and equipment that will allow him to efficiently produce and serve customers
* Standardizing the process so that it is easy to replicate and sell his concept in other areas/towns.
