From a freezing Eastern Free State today.🥶😁🙏 Hi to all our worm farm enthusiasts. Weather here has turned bitterly cold and the worm farm team are hard at work covering all the worm beds with a thick layer of mulch today, this will keep the warmth in the worm rows at a constant temperature and prevent the worm beds from freezing. We are expecting -6° C from tonight onwards for the next few days. In these extreme conditions we do NOT do our weekly watering routine due to freezing. Proud supporters of Regenerative agriculture and paving the way for change.🐛🌾🙏😁

Hi all my fellow soil lovers and food gardeners. The new worm farm on IMLA Farm is really growing and taking shape now. As we keep expanding the number of new worm beds on the farm it is vitally important that we too increase the compost making operations as well, this is the food for our worms. The pics today are of us making compost the old fashioned way. We hope to be able to harvest our first batch of castings by the end of May. It has taken us four months to get all the routines of the worm farm in place and we can not wait for our first harvest. Proud supporters of Regenerative agriculture. Blessed to be able to tell my children and grand child that Gran is doing everything she can to make the world a less toxic place to live in. Be part of the solution and not part of the problem. No words to describe what a special day I had on friday, I spent the morning teaching a family of 9 adults and 11 grandchildren the basics about Red wriggler composting worms and laying out new worm beds. The morning was full of delight when the children were allowed to dig and help us get the worms into their new feeding beds. It is always a pleasure to teach what I know to our future up and coming worm farmers. Proud supporter of Regenerative Agriculture and healing our soil. Healthy soil, healthy food = happy, healthy people. 🐛🥦🌻🌾

New beginnings. The little Kraal garden, composting, and worm farm in the valley is finally up and running, on the ground training is complete, it was time to take on a new project and establish another medium sized worm farm. This time we are on Wildelskloof in Gum Tree to carry out my calling. I anticipate that it will take us a full year to establish the worm farm here and train the right people to maintain it. During this period of time my team and I will be building a new home for me on a neighboring farm. The home will be a good old fashioned mud and straw house and completely off grid and self sustainable, we are looking forward to happy,healthy and busy year ahead. #

Update on the Franshoek worm farm. We have a big delivery on Monday of vermi-castings, 135 x 50kg bags. The team is harvesting and bagging, feeding and watering, never mind composting around the clock. Another load of Black gold going out to heal our soil. So proud to be playing an active role in Regenerative agriculture and lifestyles. 🙏🐛🌾🥦🌻

After +- 4 weeks of wetting our compost it was finally compost turning day at the kraal garden worm farm. The compost you see Celina and I making is the new food for the worm farm. Once we have turned it today and wet it well, we cover it with a tarp for another 4 weeks. By the end of November the compost is ready to feed to the worms.

Hi all soil lovers, Celina and I are water the worm farm today at our kraal garden. Watering is done on a weekly basis at the worm to keep the moisture levels up in the worm beds.
