COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION 📻🤝

Mach 1 Security is proud to support our local neighbourhood watches by donating and linking two-way radios directly to our Control Room.

The radios have been provided to Welcome Glen Neighbourhood Watch, represented by Lindy, and Glencairn Heights Neighbourhood Watch, represented by Tracy-Lee.

By improving communication between community patrollers and our Control Room, we can work together more effectively to combat crime, respond faster to incidents, and help make our communities safer for all residents.

A big thank you to our dedicated neighbourhood watch volunteers who continue to give their time and effort to protect our communities.

MACH 1 SECURITY ASSISTS IN APPREHENDING ROBBERY SUSPECT AT BOULDERS BEACH

A tourist visiting the Boulders Beach area reported being robbed of USD $100. Following the report, Mach 1 Security officers immediately launched a search of the surrounding area.

Through swift action and effective teamwork, the suspect was located, apprehended, and detained by Mach 1 Security members before being handed over to SANParks officials for further investigation and processing.

This successful apprehension highlights Mach 1 Security’s commitment to protecting residents, visitors, and local businesses, while working closely with law enforcement and other stakeholders to keep our communities safe.

🚨 GOOD NEWS! 🚨

Thanks to the combined efforts of local Neighbourhood Watches, CIS, and Mach 1 Security, a suspect linked to attempted vehicle break-ins and the theft of a laptop in the Deep South area was successfully tracked down and arrested in Simon’s Town. 👏

The suspect was first identified through community camera footage in Glencairn Heights after attempting to open multiple vehicle doors. Ongoing monitoring and teamwork between the Glencairn Heights and Simon’s Town NHWs, together with Mach 1 Security, led to the successful detention of the suspect.

A huge thank you to everyone supporting the community camera fund — your contributions continue to make a real difference.

🚨 URGENT SECURITY WARNING: WHATSAPP SCAM ALERT 🚨

​Scammers are targeting members of local WhatsApp groups to steal and hijack accounts.
​How the trap works:
​They join groups you are in and harvest your phone number.

​They call you directly, mentioning your specific group name to build quick trust.
​They claim there is an upcoming "Zoom meeting" and send you a link.

​While you are on the line, a verification code arrives on your phone. They will ask you to read back the "numbers on your screen" pretending it's the Zoom link.

​🛑 THIS IS THE TRAP. Those numbers are your WhatsApp verification code. The moment you give them that code, they take full control of your account, lock you out, and begin scamming your friends and family for money.

​⚠️ THE GOLDEN RULE: Never, ever read any verification code sent to your phone to anyone. No legitimate organization will ever ask for this.

🚨 STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED IN GLENCAIRN

On Saturday, a vehicle previously reported stolen in Paarl was identified by its registration number in the Glencairn area.

Our Mach 1 officers immediately jumped into action, tracked down the vehicle, and successfully intercepted it.
Both the suspect and the vehicle were handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

A massive thank you to SAPS for their fast, efficient response, the Neighbourhood Watch and to Ithuba for their collaboration and assistance.

This is yet another incident proving that when security teams and the community work together
across regions, we can keep everyone safer! 💪🇿🇦

In 2006, Manu built Mach 1 Security from the ground up. He wasn't just a business owner; he was a leader, a mentor, and a friend to so many. We miss him immensely since his passing in March. 2025, but today isn't about sorrow—it’s about celebrating his life, his achievements, and the incredible legacy he left behind.

Standing together

The Fish Hoek Police arranged an anti-crime walk in Fish Hoek on Friday 30 May in honour of Mach 1's founder, Manu Choudree

Captain Binza from the Fish Hoek Police Station convened the walk and it involved the police, security companies, neighbourhood watch members, and local councillors Simon Liell-Cock and Patricia Francke

Suspicious people were stopped and searched and vagrants moved on

In the last photo, Captain Binza is seen talking to a motorist about fraud and being safe in the online world of theft and fraud

The councillors and SAPS members were able to assess vulnerable points, and commitments have been made for further targeted action
