Powering a historic legacy with advanced renewable energy 🔋
We are proud to share the video of our latest landmark solar project at the iconic Lanzerac Wine Estate—one of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates.

Renowned for its award-winning wines and historic architecture nestled in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands, Lanzerac seamlessly blends tradition and innovation. This forward-thinking estate is dedicated to sustainability and responsible stewardship of its legacy, making it a natural partner for SolarSaver’s advanced renewable energy solutions.

Lanzerac now benefits from a 770kWp, 1.2 MWh system that powers the activities on the estate, from wine-making to hospitality. This project was driven by a highly effective partnership. The expert team at Atlas Power brought us this opportunity and seamlessly managed all client interactions. For optimal efficiency and reliability, the system relies on high-performance Sigenergy inverters in a modular, stackable design, providing seamless PV+ESS back-up during outages.

As the dedicated funding partner, SolarSaver owns the system. We provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M), including continuous performance monitoring. Our fully managed solution allows the Lanzerac team to benefit from clean, sustainable energy while they focus entirely on their core business: crafting world-class wines.

We have powered many unique hospitality sites across Southern Africa, but installing solar on a boat is a first!
Phase 1 of our latest project saw us wading in ankle-deep water to provide renewable energy for the beautiful Shamwari Houseboat, a floating lodge based on the Upper Zambezi River near Mwandi in Namibia.

This robust off-grid system features innovations from Sigenergy to ensure reliable, consistent power on the water:

'Water from the highlands of Angola runs for over a thousand kilometres in search of the sea. It never finds it. Instead, this liquid migration spills over the Kalahari sands in Botswana and into the Okavango Delta. Here, the desert drinks and life thrives.' 💧

We are excited to showcase a landmark off-grid solar installation at the iconic Xugana Island Lodge, run by Desert & Delta Safaris. This project brings clean, reliable energy to one of Botswana's first-ever delta lodges, replacing its previous reliance on generators.

Situated over 100km from the nearest town in permanent water flows, the remote location posed some challenges!
Our teams successfully navigated this to deliver a world-class system that honours the lodge's deep connection to the pristine environment of this UNESCO World Heritage Site - providing true tranquillity with renewable energy.

Project highlights:
💡 Total off-grid power: The lodge is now fully powered by a bespoke solar solution from SolarSaver using Sigenergy technology.

☀️ System capacity: 136.08kWp from 324 Trina Solar panels.

🔋 Advanced energy storage: 352kWh of battery capacity using 44 Sigenergy 8.0kWh lithium batteries, managed by 8 Sigenergy 15kW inverters.

⚡ Reliable backup: A 130kVA generator ensures uninterrupted power.

This installation at Xugana Island Lodge is one of 83 SolarSaver and Sigenergy sites across Botswana and Namibia, showcasing our commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions even in the most remote and challenging locations.

Powering a luxury safari experience with sustainable energy. 🦁

Our installation teams had their eyes peeled for the legendary white lions when we completed a grid-tied solar solution at the beautiful Ngala Safari Lodge in November.
Part of the &BEYOND Group, the lodge is in a private wilderness concession tucked inside South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park.

The 202.5kWp system includes 220kW of high-performance Sigenergy inverters. This installation marks another milestone for our team, representing one of many Sigenergy systems we have deployed across Namibia and South Africa working with SIAAC.
