Estate grown is two words. This is what sits behind them.

Every grape we bottle is grown on this farm. Nothing is bought in, nothing is topped up from elsewhere in a short year, nothing is blended in from a district we have never walked.

It is a discipline more than a boast. It means we only ever have as much w**e as the season gives us.

It means a difficult year is ours to wear, and there is nobody else to point at.

A vintage is not decided in the cellar. It is decided out here, months earlier, in a run of small choices that nobody photographs.

Where a row is planted. How a canopy is managed. What comes off the vine and what is left to hang a little longer. By the time fruit reaches the cellar, most of what matters has already been settled.

Which is why we keep returning to the same sentence. Crafting good w**es starts in the vineyards.
