From South Africa’s oldest red wine vineyard, planted in 1900, the 2024 Leeu Passant Wellington Cinsault continues the vineyard's remarkable and historic evolution.

Our most floral vintage to date, this deeply aromatic wine opens with violets, raspberry, thyme and red cherry on the nose.

The palate reveals pomegranate complexity and exceptionally fine, silky tannins.

The 2023 Leeu Passant matured for an initial eleven months in 500L French oak barrels, one-third of which were new. It was then blended and aged for an additional eleven months in seasoned 2000L foudres. The wine was only released after a further fifteen months in bottle.

Inspired by South African vinous greats from the middle of the previous century, there is no wonder why it is the pinnacle of our portfolio.

Sourced from a dry-farmed vineyard planted in 1963, the 2025 Leeu Passant Franschhoek Sémillon reflects the unique Franschhoek terroir of alluvial sandstone and granite soils.

The Leeu Passant Radicales Libres pioneered the Extended Barrel Aged White Wine style formally recognised in South Africa in 2018.

The 2020 vintage is the latest release, a Chardonnay aged five years in French oak barriques where it developed a natural voile, concentrating in acidity and complexity over time.

Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the mid-slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch are joined by Cinsault from Wellington, giving the wine its distinctive character.
