Grenache has a bit of an identity problem.
It is one of the world’s great wine grapes, widely planted across the Mediterranean and beyond, yet many wine drinkers rarely see the word Grenache on the bottle. It often disappears into regional names and blends.
And then there’s Grenache Blanc. The white mutation of Grenache gets even less attention, which is a shame. It can produce beautifully textured, expressive wines with freshness, body and a character quite different from the usual white varieties filling the shelves.
We’ve always thought it deserved a little more attention. That’s why Grenache Blanc has an important place at Solms-Delta, both in our wines and as a variety we think more people should discover.
If Grenache Blanc isn't already in your rotation, perhaps it's time.
