If you’ve ever visited our cellar door, you’ll know our Red Ladies, the ambassadors who welcome every guest with warmth, knowledge and their signature red dresses. This Merlot is our tribute to them, and to the grace they bring to every glass poured.

Hand harvested from well-drained granite soils in the Western Cape and crafted by w**emaker Karlin Nel, this 100% Merlot is fermented across oak and stainless steel to preserve its vibrant colour and expressive fruit. The w**e is vibrant and plush, with layers of ripe red fruit unfolding across the palate. Generous with good body, it has a beautifully smooth texture, supported by silky-smooth tannins. Approachable and fruit-forward in its youth, this is a Merlot that brings elegance, generosity and effortless drinkability to every pour.

Vrede en Lust W**e Estate is looking for an enthusiastic Tasting Room Ambassadors to join our team for the upcoming season.

As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you'll welcome visitors, present engaging w**e tastings, share the Vrede en Lust story and grow our w**e sales. You'll offer knowledgeable recommendations, introduce guests to our W**e Club and estate offerings, and help maintain the high service standards our brand is known for.

We're looking for candidates with basic w**e knowledge and previous tasting room experience, a genuine passion for w**e, strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build rapport with guests. You should be sales-driven without compromising the guest experience, professional and well-presented, reliable, calm under pressure and a strong team player.
If you understand that a great w**e tasting is about creating an experience and a connection, not just pouring w**e, we'd love to hear from you.

Spring has quietly arrived at Vrede en Lust.

The vines are budding, the mornings are golden, and the estate is easing into its favourite season.

This September, we’re inviting you to stay in it. Choose our Luxury Vineyard Rooms for a classic estate stay with breakfast and a w**e tasting included, or Jonkmanshuis Cottages for something more private and self-contained.

For bigger groups, take over The Manor House, a beautifully restored homestead with room for up to 8, or The Residence, our six-bedroom luxury villa with its own pool, gym, and spa on request.
