YOUTH DAY 2021 – Empowerment through Skills and Training.
COVID has reinforced the importance of Food Security, highlighting Primary Agriculture and the focus on Value Adding to the range of Baseline Products produced by South African Agriculture Industry.
It has also alerted us to the critical shortage of qualified and experienced young farmers, technicians, and entrepreneurs entering the Agri-industry.
At VIRIBUSCONSULT we understand the importance to grow the next generation of Agri-Primary Industry leaders.
At ViribusConsult we strive to address key elements of these deficits through our projects of which our involvement in the Bonteheuwel Initiative is our pioneering project.
1. Agri Science:
• Introducing Youth to crop- and protein related agriculture.
•Nurturing an awareness of the responsibility to apply sustainable agricultural practices favourable to our Ecosystem.
•Understanding and Optimising Soil Potential.
2. Agri Technology:
•Applying Agrotechnology, aiming to improve yield, efficiency, and profitability in a responsible manner without negative health consequences.
•Awareness of Software Technology and Online Data.
3. Agri management:
•Educating Youth in the necessity to build a sustainable agricultural industry.
•Introducing concepts on Business Basics e.g., budgets, offtakes, planning and food safety.

ViribusConsult visits the Langkloof
Anton and Clive visited the Langkloof on a farm assessment in mid-May. We were contracted to assess the feasibility of a fruit enterprise in the Bo-Langkloof.
The area is caught in a drought that just does not want to relax its grip on the community, but the people themselves remain positive and are incredibly hospitable.
We stayed at Michelle Zondagh’s guesthouse, at Belle-Vue Farm Accommodation and Tours, just outside the tiny town of Avontuur. She has renovated a farmhouse and we were spoilt with clean and homely , self-catering accommodation.
When you are in the area, make a point of staying over with her for at least one night. You will enjoy the view and the experience of a working farm, without feeling that it encroaches on your privacy.
We returned back home over the Prince Alfred pass, which connects Avontuur to Knysna. This was a fantastic experience!! The road is about 80km long and in fairly good condition – a sedan car will be able to do the trip comfortably.

Our Corporate Branding Process
A logo is an essential part of a company’s brand and it is quite a process to define a unique identity that has the power to communicate what you stand for.
The idea of what VIRIBUSCONSULT wanted to portray was clear but a brainstorming session was necessary to get to the core of our business’s personality.
This entailed collaborating with Sonja Conradie of VISIDIGITAL to make the magic happen. During our session we were led to think out of the box whilst striving for a clean and minimalistic style that will drive the message home.
At the conclusion of our brand, we were happy that the message of longevity was clear and we were pleased that the outcome we were aspiring to had been reached.
