I am expanding my business coaching to include RESEARCH COACHING
A Researcher Coach is a professional (or sometimes a peer mentor) who supports researchers in strengthening their research skills, productivity, and confidence, much like a sports coach does for athletes — but in the academic or investigative domain. NB: In short, a researcher coach doesn’t “do the research for you,” but rather helps you become a more capable, efficient, and confident researcher.
Definition:
A researcher coach is an advisor and facilitator who guides individuals or teams through the process of designing, conducting, analysing, and communicating research by providing tailored strategies, constructive feedback, and motivational support to help them achieve specific scholarly or project goals.
Key roles of a Researcher Coach include:
Skill development: Helping researchers improve methodological, analytical, and academic writing skills.
Strategic guidance: Assisting in defining research questions, selecting appropriate designs, and aligning methods with objectives.
Accountability partner: Keeping the researcher on track with timelines and deliverables.
Feedback and refinement: Reviewing drafts, presentations, or analyses and suggesting improvements.
Confidence building: Encouraging researchers to overcome challenges like writer’s block, imposter syndrome, or methodological uncertainty.
