Four years have passed since Sivenathi “Sive” Toto was attacked in an act of alleged revenge that changed the course of her life forever.

Sive was just 23 years old when she was attacked in Lawaaikamp, George, in August 2022. According to reports, the accused, Shaun Madonono, had earlier lost a fight with Sive’s boyfriend. He allegedly retaliated by breaking into Sive’s home, dragging her to his residence and assaulting her until she lost consciousness. She was later found near a petrol station.

Sive survived, but the consequences have been devastating.

She suffered severe brain damage and is now non-verbal, permanently wheelchair-bound and entirely dependent on others for daily care. At just 23, the life she knew was taken from her.

Four years later, the case is still before the courts. The matter last appeared in the George Regional Court on 29 July 2026, with the trial scheduled to continue on 26 August.

Sive has lived with the consequences of that night every single day for four years. She should not still be waiting for the justice process to reach its conclusion.

Today, we stand with Sive and her family as they continue their fight for accountability.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Mzansi’s Finest Sends Love to Lawaaikamp! 🧤

Kaizer Chiefs legend and South African football icon, Itumeleng Khune, has taken time out of his busy schedule to send a special message of encouragement to local giants, Black Cats FC, from Lawaaikamp.

As the annual Easter Soccer Tournament takes over George, the veteran goalkeeper is backing the side to bring the trophy home. Known for his keen eye for talent and passion for grassroots football, "Itu" is urging the team to stay disciplined, work hard, and showcase the immense talent brewing in the Western Cape.

“I want to wish Black Cats FC all the best during this year's Easter Tournament in George. Make the community proud and represent with pride,” Khune noted.

The Lawaaikamp side, a powerhouse in local football, will be looking to channel that legend energy to dominate the field this weekend.
