⚖️ Understanding the Disciplinary Process

Discipline in the workplace must be fair, consistent, and procedurally sound. Here's how a lawful disciplinary process should unfold in the Private Security Sector:

1️⃣ Notice of Hearing — The employee receives written notice of the alleged misconduct, with sufficient time to prepare a response (usually 48 hours minimum).
2️⃣ Disciplinary Hearing — The employee has the right to be heard, to present their version, and to be accompanied by a fellow employee or union representative.
3️⃣ Finding — A chairperson evaluates evidence from both sides and makes an impartial finding.
4️⃣ Sanction — If found guilty, a sanction proportionate to the offence is imposed.
5️⃣ Right of Appeal — The employee has the right to appeal the outcome internally in line with the company's policy.
