"All designated employers whether small or large are now compelled to report every year, failure to comply will result in penalties" - Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant acting on the advice of the Commission of Employment Equity in terms of the Employment Equity Act of 1998 said that the Employer had more than enough time to implement the Employment Equity Act. This year they will show teeth to the Employer that does not comply.
WHY MUST YOU SUBMIT AN EMPLOYMENT EQUITY REPORT?
* It is a legal requirement as prescribed by the Employment Equity Act. Non compliance may have far - reaching consequences.
* It is important for purposes of obtaining a B-BBEE Certificate- Without an Employment Equity Report, points may be forfeited for Management and Control on the BEE Scorecard.
WHAT IS A DESIGNATED EMPLOYER?
* If you have 50 or more employees OR
* Have fewer than 50 employees but have an annual turnover that exceeds the threshold of your sector.
