ALERT PATROL AND UNIC SECURITY READY TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY SAFETY ACROSS THE GARDEN ROUTE AND KLEIN KAROO

As South Africa prepares for possible protest action and heightened tensions in certain parts of the country on 30 June 2026, Alert Patrol and Unic Security have activated contingency measures and enhanced operational readiness across the Garden Route and Klein Karoo.

As the largest integrated private security and response network in the region, serving communities from Mossel Bay, George and Wilderness through to Oudtshoorn and the greater Klein Karoo, our primary focus remains the safety and security of our clients, businesses, residents and visitors.

Our Joint Operations Centres are monitoring developments closely and maintaining communication with law enforcement agencies, community structures, neighbourhood watches and key stakeholders throughout the region.

Additional response resources have been placed on standby, including:

• Enhanced vehicle patrols and tactical response teams• Increased control room staffing and operational monitoring• Expanded incident management and communication capabilities• Additional support resources for critical infrastructure and business districts• Coordination with local authorities and emergency services where required

At this stage there is no indication of widespread disruption within the Garden Route or Klein Karoo. However, responsible preparedness remains essential.

We encourage residents and businesses to remain calm, avoid sharing unverified information, and rely on credible sources for updates. Community vigilance, cooperation and responsible behaviour are key to maintaining the stability for which our region is known.

Alert Patrol and Unic Security remain fully committed to protecting our communities and supporting public safety. Our teams stand ready to respond should circumstances require additional security measures.

🚨 VISIBLE STAND-OFF| DANA BAY 🚨

This morning a high-visibility stand-off operation took place in Dana Bay, carried out by Alert Patrol, UNIC, and DBS Security.

This joint operation was conducted to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to fighting crime, protecting residents, and maintaining a strong security presence in our communities.

🐕‍🦺 UNIC’s K9 Unit was on site, showcasing the power and professionalism of the largest K9 security company in the Garden Route. These highly trained dogs and handlers play a critical role in crime prevention, suspect apprehension, patrol support, and rapid response operations.

Two suspects were arrested successfully on the evening of 19 March, following information with regards to a suspect vehicle and stolen goods. This was a team effort in cooperation with DBS Security, Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch, and our own Unic security K9 unit. Thank you to all involved for making our town and neighbourhood safe. MOSSEL BAY

Key Responsibilities:
-Enforce the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’ .
-Ensure that the Control Room is fully operational and efficient.
-Handle and resolve Staff and Client Complaints.
-Carry out duties and tasks as per the Site Job Description.
-Ensure that the primary function of the Control Room is always upheld.

Minimum Requirements:
-PSIRA Registered.
-Matric Certified.
-Valid police clearance
-3 to 5 years of experience in the Security Industry.
-3 to 5 years of Control Room Experience.
-Solid Computer Competency.
-Electronic Equipment experience will be advantageous.
-Knowledge of the Security Industry regulations including Operational and Client requirement.
-Must reside in Mossel Bay

Competencies:
-Excellent Report Writing Skills.
-Excellent Leadership Skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
-Ability to effectively deal with employees, clients public.
-Attention to detail.
-Ability to generate reports.
