Hello to everyone from all of us at Heron Ridge,

We hope that you and your respective families are safe and healthy during these most challenging times, as that is the most important thing!

After last night’s speech by the President, I’m sure you are as thrilled as we are to finally be allowed to get your hands on some wine again, as well as to exercise at will. Heron Ridge is extremely excited to get going after such a long hiatus, and as such we are wanting to provide our loyal customers with an opportunity to take delivery of their favourite Heron Ridge Wine, as well as lend a helping to an organisation who really needs support at this time.

As most of you will know, Heron Ridge has teamed up with the WILDLIFE ACT, https://wildlifeact.com/ This company is filled with hardworking individuals who are dedicated to conserving Africa’s most endangered species, being actively involved in tasks such as antipoaching, anti-snaring, poison reaction teams, community-based awareness projects as well as general tracking and monitoring of these beautiful creatures. The work WILDLIFE ACT does is vitally important to their survival and Heron Ridge is proud to assist during a particularly challenging time for them.

It is in line with this that Heron Ridge has decided to donate R5 for every bottle sold to the Wildlife Act in their fight to protect the survival of our incredible creatures. Take comfort in the fact that while you are sipping on some delicious wine that you have helped in protecting the animals that we all yearn to see once again.

The Flight 2017 will be priced at R65 per bottle and will be delivered to Cape Town and Surrounds, FREE OF CHARGE. This will be delivered on either the 1st or the 2nd of June.

Wildlife ACT’s Emergency Response Fund (ERF):

The Emergency Response Fund allows a rapid emergency response to save endangered species which have been snared, poisoned, injured, dispersed or who have broken out of a reserve. It allows for the payment of critical veterinary costs, the rapid retrieval of dispersing African Painted Dogs using helicopters and vehicles, and the emergency retrieval of individuals in serious danger of being harmed. Being able to respond rapidly means saving numerous individuals annually.

It also strengthens the trust between the reserves and the surrounding communities which improves the tolerance of having predators on reserves and tolerance to breakouts. The unnecessary suffering of these endangered species is alleviated, whether it’s a snared African Painted Dog, an orphaned Rhino or poisoned Vultures, as vets and experienced personnel have the ability to react immediately.

Heron Ridge Wine Farm has pledged to donate R1 for every bottle in its Flight Range sold to aid the Wildlife ACT - Focused Conservation emergency response team to react to these situations. Aiding conservation organisations like Wildlife ACT, who are dedicated to conserving Africa’s endangered species, is vital if we are to secure a safer environment for these species in the future.
