She’s the Soul of Sondagskloof
She gets a thrill kissing the earth with the soles of her feet and loves wriggling her toes in the soils of Sondagskloof. Known for dancing with the who’s who, she never stepped on any toes…
A lighter style Sauvignon blanc including components from three different vinification processes.

Free-spirited, adventurous, and intimately connected with nature, Kaalvoet Meisie embraces life moment by moment. She finds joy in life's unexpected pleasures and eagerly shares these delightful experiences with you through every sip.

Every bottle marks a beginning.
A new season. A new vintage. A dinner with old friends. A toast to good news. Or perhaps simply surviving another Monday.😵‍💫
Renewal doesn't have to be dramatic. Sometimes it looks like opening a bottle you've been saving, pouring the first glass, and deciding today is worth celebrating after all.😂
As this new season unfolds, we're raising a glass to fresh starts, second chances, good company and wines made with care, curiosity and our little healthy obsession.🍷
Here's to what's next.

People often ask what makes a great wine.
The soil helps. The climate helps. The vineyards certainly help.

But none of it means much without the people who show up before sunrise, brave winter winds and downpours, survive harvest marathons and still somehow smile at the end of the day.☺️

Every season brings renewed energy, fresh ideas and another opportunity to honour a craft that's been handed down through time.

Our wines may begin in the vineyard...
…but they're carried by people.🥰

And we wouldn't have it any other way.

We are celebrating Shiraz Day today…and Shiraz (or Syrah, if you're feeling fancy 🙂) is the heartbeat of our Skoonma.

Most Skoonma’s (mothers-in-law) require you to deep clean the house and hide your bad life choices. Ours just requires a corkscrew. 🍾

Shiraz Day is a celebration of one of life's simplest pleasures: opening a great bottle and sharing it with good people.

South African cool-climate Shiraz isn't about being the biggest or loudest wine in the room. It's about balance, freshness and the kind of effortless drinkability that quietly keeps everyone reaching for another glass.⚖️

It's the wine that lingers long after the bottle is empty - because of the stories told, the laughter shared and the memories made around the table.

So this Shiraz Day, gather your favourite people, pull a cork, pour generously and celebrate the joy of slowing down.

Great Shiraz isn't just something you taste; it's something you experience together.

Some wines ask for your attention. Cool-climate Shiraz earns it.💃

Every vintage teaches us something.🤓

Sometimes it's a tiny adjustment in the vineyard. Sometimes it's a different decision in the cellar. Sometimes it's simply a reminder that Mother Nature still has the final say.☺️

Renewal doesn't always arrive with fireworks. More often, it arrives disguised as small improvements repeated over and over again.

We're constantly asking ourselves one question:
"Can we make this wine even better?" It's an annoying question, really.🫣

Because the answer usually means more work.

Fortunately, we rather enjoy that part. 🙂

A bottle of wine has never complained about being opened.

Quite the opposite.

It was made to be shared.😉

Renewal isn't only something that happens in vineyards. It happens around tables, over long lunches, during loud conversations and between friends who somehow lose track of time.🍽️

The world moves quickly. Good wine gently suggests we slow down.

Fill the glasses. Tell the stories. Laugh a little louder than necessary.😁

The best bottles rarely become memorable because of what's inside them alone. They become memorable because of the people gathered around them.

Here's to catching up with old friends, renewing old friendships, and making a few new ones along the way.😍

Ask a farmer about rain and prepare yourself for a conversation.😆

Not all rain is equal. Timing matters. Amount matters. The forecast matters. Even the clouds can become a topic worthy of debate.🌧️

After an abnormal dry spell this winter, we are anticipating the first proper rain. The vineyards are patiently waiting for the winter rain and will exhale an enormous, grateful sigh of relief.

Renewal often arrives like that - quietly, steadily and exactly when it's needed.
We'll celebrate every drop, keep doing our bit in the vineyards, and trust nature to handle the rest.💦

Although... we'd still appreciate it if the weather app could be right once in a while.🙃

People often imagine winemaking as dramatic. Grapes arrive. Tanks bubble. Barrels line the cellar like soldiers.

The truth?

Most of the magic happens while absolutely nothing appears to be happening.😅

Wine spends months quietly becoming itself. Softening. Settling. Finding balance. We resist the urge to rush because good things seldom appreciate being hurried.

Renewal isn't always about bold reinvention. Sometimes it's about giving something the time and space to become what it was always meant to be.🥹

Turns out, wine is an excellent teacher of patience.

And patience, thankfully, pairs beautifully with dinner.🤩

One of the greatest lessons the vineyard teaches us?
The strongest things aren't always the loudest.😁

Renewal often arrives quietly - in patient hands, steady hearts, and people who simply keep showing up, season after season.
That reminds us of the remarkable women who shape our families, work in our vineyards, our communities and, yes, even make wines.💃

They nurture, encourage, challenge and occasionally remind us that we don't know quite as much as we think we do.

Fair enough.

This Women's Day, we raise a glass to every woman whose strength, kindness and resilience help the world begin again, one season at a time.🍷

Happy Women's Day from all of us.😍

To the untrained eye, winter vineyards can look a little... underwhelming.🥹

No leaves. No grapes. Just rows of sleeping vines. But don't be fooled.

Winter is where some of the most important work happens. Pruning. Planning. Repairing. Preparing.

Renewal isn't always loud. Sometimes it wears gumboots and works quietly in the cold.👢

The same goes for making wine. Behind every bottle is a thousand small decisions nobody sees, each one helping the next vintage become just a little better.

Growth often starts long before anyone notices.🤩
