🌸 Spring is a good excuse for a fresh start.

There’s something about 1 September that makes you want to open the windows, clear the clutter and start again.

And businesses need that feeling too.

You don't have to fix everything at once. Sometimes a little attention to the things that have been quietly bothering you can make a surprisingly big difference to how your business feels day to day.

A useful exercise for this week:

Take a look at your calendar and your to-do list and ask yourself:

“If I could only spend half my time on this business, what would I absolutely keep doing myself?”

Those are probably the things where your time has the most value.

Then look at everything else.

What could be streamlined?
What could be systemised?
What could simply be handed over?

You don't necessarily need more hours in your day.

You may just need to stop spending your best hours on work that someone else could handle.

One of the biggest benefits of having business support isn't simply having someone to complete a list of tasks.

It's having someone who takes ownership.

Someone who knows what needs attention, keeps track of what's coming up, follows things through and can spot when something needs action, without you having to remember to ask.

That's the difference between simply outsourcing a task and having someone who becomes a reliable part of your business.

You should be able to get on with your work knowing that the details are being looked after.

You don't need to be the person answering every email, updating every spreadsheet, chasing every payment and keeping every little process moving.

A simple question to ask is:

“Does this task need my expertise, or does it simply need my time?”

If it needs your expertise, keep it.
If it simply needs your time, it may be time to delegate.
