Abantu Book Festival is an annual literary event held in Soweto, South African’s artistic heartland, featuring authors from South Africa, Africa, and the diaspora.

It’s been two weeks since we made the call for donations and the response, like most things about Abantu Book Festival, has been more than expected.

We intend to recruit 1000 patrons by December; so far 90 people have signed up, with 40 making their contributions immediately. These range from R50 to R2000, which is over and above what is requested.

Many have committed to make regular contributions throughout the year.

We wish to THANK each and every one of YOU for the support and most heartily for your prompt response. Sithi tshotsho nibekho; maze kwande apho nithabatha khona.
