Global Entrepreneurship Week Pride!
On 15 November, I was honoured to be invited by Love Howick to join their Capital Quest evening as a panelist. I've been mentoring these 5 entrepreneurs since May and am bursting with admiration to see how far they have come.
They have put in the time, turned targets into achievements and taken risks.
Please put your cyber hands together for:
1. Nkosikhona Ndlovu is the founder of Amangonyama Tour Operator; sharing the magic of the Midlands along with his local knowledge and passion for people. He's found a niche within the education sector and now has several recurring clients, offering schools educational outings and tours. Having lost his parents at a young age, his community raised him and his 4 siblings. He is an incredible example of what it looks like to overcome and stay true to oneself.

2. Nomathemba Miya is a fashion designer who creates her own ideas into unique, South African and glamorous garments. She's moved from her home studio into a retail space in Pietermaritzberg and barely sleeps to meet customer satisfaction and grow her brand. We were treated to models wearing her handmade creations; a wedding gown (oh.my.G**!) and out-of-this-world evening wear. I'm floored by this human's talent and commitment to her vision.
I need to mention that she creates fascinators! See more here: https://lnkd.in/d3kHNgSy
3. Nonhlakanipho Khanyile is a walking representation of her work, uBboohle Beauty Salon. She serves the Mpophomeni community and they love her. She managed to save and buy a generator to keep her home salon operating during loadshedding. She has soaked up her master classes with her undeniable thirst for knowledge and her drive to get better and better. I am so proud of her! See her work here: UBoohle beauty studio.
4. Lihle Mavuso is a trail blazer bringing plant-based catering to Mpophomeni and the Midlands. This super star cooks with locally sourced ingredients and uses full African Township flavour. The first of her kind, bringing slow fast food to her area. She continues to add to her resume and has just completed a gluten-free baking course. She's even been to Italy to represent the slow-food movement of SA! There's so much more to see here: Khayelihle FOOD BOWL.
5. Londiwe Chiburi is the force behind Lillion Farming. This woman is influencing the agri-preneur space in all the good ways! Her grit and determination has seen her farming business secure a hydroponics system and most recently, launch her fresh produce at Boxer Superstores in Howick! I must be glowing with admiration. Here she is: Lillon Farming
It has been incredible witnessing and assisting the work of Matt Hogarty and his team at Love Howick. South Africa is so fortunate to have you!
