This is a role for someone who thrives on independence and can run a small operation to a five-star standard, from guest hosting through to staff and budget management. There are fewer than 90 days left in the year, and the reality is that many of you are waiting until the clock strikes midnight on 31 December before you even think about your goals. And we get it, no judgment, but does the thought of getting a head start on your goals excite you? It sure does for us, and we want to encourage more people to do the same! Our advice is to take the next 3 months to get clear on where you are at, evaluate your goals for this year or even the recent months; this is your starting point. What are you realistically going to achieve this year?

The more realistic you are, the better you are going to feel going into the new year with your goals. Once you have done this audit on where you are at and where you expect to be, you can ask yourself if you will be happy completing these goals before the end of the year, or if there is anything else you know you want to focus on. If ideas come up, think about them and realign your priorities if you need to.

The end outcome should be clear goals for the next 3 months, with each having action steps assigned to them (action steps should be as low time commitment as possible; think something you could do in just 30 minutes).

• Previous experience in a luxury lodge or five-star hospitality environment
