Well now the E-toll saga gets even better. This morning I received an SMS from SANRAL on my cell number for one of our tax clients. The only place that my number is connected to this person is with SARS. The call centre agent stated that they obtained the information from E-natis. Either SANRAL or E-natis has illegally obtained this information from SARS - this is a clear violation of Section 4 of the Income tax act - "Preservation of secrecy". We are going to be reporting this to the Public Protector.

26.4 billion in one year! With this we could have paid for the GFIP and had change left over and no need for E-tolls. I haven't heard of anyone being fired or held accountable under the PFMA for this crime against the South African Public.
