Another successful follow-up by our Cradock Armed Response Team!

An Armed Response Officer received a panic activation from the owner of Pat’s Tavern following an incident involving the theft of empty crates.

Through follow-up investigations and information received, our officers managed to trace the individuals believed to be involved. One suspect was located and taken to the places where the stolen empties had been sold.

Our team successfully recovered four crates of empties. The individual also provided information regarding the second person involved, who had allegedly sold the remaining crates.

After further follow-up, our team managed to make contact with the second individual, who acknowledged his involvement. Arrangements were then made to recover the remaining stolen empties.

The client chose not to open a case and requested assistance in recovering his property only.

From the initial panic activation to the follow-up and recovery, our officers kept working until the client’s property was accounted for.

Always Ready. Always Responding.

Cradock Smhart Security Armed Response Officers once again showed that teamwork, communication and persistence make a difference. 👮‍♂️🚓

Yesterday afternoon, Officer Z and Officer E responded to an alarm activation indicating a positive break-in at a property. Upon arrival, they discovered a male suspect at the scene. Unfortunately, the property owners were away on the farm and were unable to attend immediately to open a case.

Later that evening, another break-in was reported at the same property. Although the suspect was no longer on scene, a backpack believed to be connected to the incident was recovered.

💪 The investigation didn’t stop there.

During the early hours of this morning, the night shift handed the information over to the day shift. Officers immediately followed up by visiting local scrap yards and informing them of the stolen property, including braais, which could potentially be sold as scrap.

At approximately 09:30, one of the scrap yards contacted Smhart Security after identifying a person attempting to sell items matching the description of the stolen property.

Our officers responded immediately and located the suspect at the scrap yard.

Suspect apprehended. Stolen property identified.

The property owners are currently in town and will be attending to open a formal case with SAPS.

This is what happens when information is shared, leads are followed up, and our officers refuse to simply walk away from an incident.

Another one bites the dust.

Our zero tolerance, your peace of mind

INCIDENT REPORT | SUSPECTED THEFT & ARREST

Luuks / Driehoek / D Camp
14 September 2026 | 11:45

Smhart Security armed response officers were alerted via radio two suspicious persons observed walking and sitting near a unit in the Luuks area.

Armed Response Officer H responded immediately. Upon arrival, the two individuals attempted to flee towards Driehoek. Both suspects were apprehended, with one male suspect later attempting to flee again towards D Camp before being apprehended by the team.

It was further established that the male suspect allegedly has previous criminal convictions and had been released from prison approximately two months prior.

During the investigation, a duvet and blanket were found folded in the suspects’ possession. The client was contacted and identified the items as property belonging to ATKV.

The suspects were escorted by Smhart Security officers to Da Gama SAPS, where a case was opened for trespassing and possession of suspected stolen property. The suspects were handed over to SAPS and arrested.

Smhart Security commends Officer H and the response team for their swift response, vigilance and professional handling of the incident.

Our officers remain committed to protecting our clients, responding when it matters and assisting SAPS in keeping our communities safe.
