Digital skills to learn (Part A):
The last time, I talked about learning a digital skill and how important it is in our world today.
So, today I will be talking about some of these skills to actually help you decide.
*Digital Marketing*
This means advertising a product or service to people using different digital means like websites, apps, emails, search engines etc. Digital marketers are in high demand and you can acquire digital marketing skills such as
1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Helping websites rank higher on Google.
2. PPC (Pay-Per-Click): Creating ads that charge per click.
3. Social Media Marketing: Promoting products/services on social media like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
4. Content Marketing: Creating valuable content to attract customers.
5. Email Marketing: Sending targeted messages to customers via email.
6. Analytics: Measuring website/data performance.
7. Influencer Marketing/Affiliate Marketing: Partnering with influencers for promotions.
8. Digital Strategy: Planning online business goals.
*Web Development*
This most of us know. It is building websites, WebApps, mobile Apps etc with different programming languages. Developers are needed almost everyday.
If you choose web development, you can be working as one, you can teach or you can even combine both comfortably, just like I do. Each ever way you choose, you are making your cool money.
Some skills under web development:
1. Front-end Development: Building website interfaces (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
2. Back-end Development: Building website servers (Python, Ruby, PHP, C #, C++ etc).
3. Full-stack Development: Building entire websites.(Combining both front and back end)
4. Mobile App Development: Creating mobile apps.
5. Web Design: Designing visually appealing websites.
6. UX Design: Creating user-friendly website experiences.
7. API Development: Creating data exchange interfaces.
*Graphic Design and Visual Arts*
We all love beautiful designs and we need people creating it all the time.
If you love designs, then that's your niche.
Develop more in it and become an expert. Trust me, you will be the one running from jobs, because they will keep coming and the beautiful part is that you can work from anywhere for most people. So, it won't even tie down as you make your money.
Some of the skills:
1. Adobe Creative Suite: Using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
2. Visual Design: Creating engaging visuals.
3. Branding and Identity Design: Creating logos/brand identities.
4. UI/UX Design: Designing user interfaces.
5. Digital Painting and Illustration: Creating digital artwork.
6. Video Editing: Editing videos.
7. Animation and Motion Graphics: Creating moving graphics.
One beautiful thing about digital skills is that you can be your own boss. You can even do more than one depending on how you want it and still earn well.
