A farm doesn’t get to choose when it needs power.

Irrigation pumps run when the crops need water, not when the tariff is lowest. Cold storage runs 24/7, because one warm night can destroy an entire harvest. And out in Limpopo, where municipal supply isn’t always guaranteed, energy independence isn’t a luxury. It’s survival.

That’s why two agricultural operations in Groblersdal chose Fibon.

Sugarleaf Cultivation, a ground-mounted solar system at 374 kWp. Enough to meaningfully power irrigation and processing operations. Designed for the unforgiving conditions of Limpopo agriculture, dust, heat, long summer days that are perfect for solar generation.

Today it's R2.34. That's a 172% increase in 10 years, three times faster than inflation.

Last week, South Africa celebrated 365 days without load shedding. And that's genuinely great news.
But for businesses watching their electricity bill climb every April, the real question has shifted. It's no longer "will the lights stay on?" It's "why does the same power cost more every year?"
