Our next guest is an exceptionally and extra ordinary South African Oke! Born in Belgium, he spent most of his life in South Africa representing the true colorful smaak of SA Mense. He is a dynamic leader, creative musician and visionary marketing specialist, with an inspiring level of influence, class and professionalism. In the past two decades he and his globally recognized band, have toured the world, performing with some of the best artists on the planet. He has achieved a BA degree in Communications, a post graduate degree in Digital Marketing and an executive MBA… not bad eh! And now in his current chapter of his life, he is settled in The Netherlands with his wife and 3 kids, wearing the hat of ‘Dad Executive’ by day and mumbling guitar jangler by mistake!

Episode 014 : Our guests are both Jeppe Old Boys, growing up on the streets of Johannesburg; their paths crossed after their schooling days, where they both found themselves back teaching at Jeppe Boys. They played cricket together and owned & managed a café called 141 in the infamous Queens Street in the East of Joburg. In 2015 they both began to explore the shores abroad in pursuit of their love & passion for sports; these adventures allowed them to gain a worldly view in their cricket and hockey talents where they find themselves today settling into The Netherlands and Europe. They are proudly South African Okes, spreading their goedspa and smaak 🤘🇿🇦

Let’s meet one of South Africa’s Wildest….
Tatum Rijper from (Deventer, The Netherlands)

She is such a lekker “Cherry”, born in the Western Cape. Growing up in Malmesbury, she loved the Hip Hop culture and found herself pursuing her dancing career at the age of 15; From an advert on SABC 2, her mother enrolled her into the Dancing World Champs where she represented South Africa across the globe. This sparked her dream to live in Europe; She continued to live in Kaapstad, becoming a Primary school teacher for 10 years when she left school. In 2011, she married a Dutchie after experiencing a “love at first sight” moment with him at the waterfront in Cape Town, and they have 2 kwai kids together today. She moved to the Netherlands with her young family in 2022 to spend time with her father-in-law and embrace her earlier dream of living abroad. She works for an education charity called FuseSchool Global creating stem content on YouTube (science, mathematics, chemistry, physics) for teachers to use in their classrooms; with her teaching experience, she writes her own content, creating her own videos and audio, on all educational aspects for students aged 5 – 24, from the comfort of her own home.

She misses her family and friends in South Africa, and the pop of colour our people bring; her favorite South African foods are the infamous garage pie & chip roll with guilty pleasures of endless coffee and ‘Belinda Louw’ (Black Label beer)
She is excited to explore her new home with her husband & kids, to embrace the infinite opportunities the world has to offer; she is a proper South African gal with a heart of gold and she is here with us today to tell her story.

She is freaking hilarious and such a soulful child
