1.0 STATUS SECURITY GROUP PROFILE
Status Security was founded in Johannesburg in early 1982 and has grown since its inception, both organically, and by acquisition, into the diversified Status Security Group of Companies existing today. Having said that, a commitment by a dedicated team of locally and internationally qualified specialist managers and consultants, experts in their fields,
and attuned to the local conditions, makes all the difference and forms the cornerstone of effective security. Nowhere is this better illustrated than in the Status Security Group. Status was one of the first in the security industry in South Africa to develop a proactive approach to providing security. The company created the virtual “cordon sanitaire” model and in recent years has developed the highly effective and widely acclaimed Tactical type operation, which many companies now emulate. The Group provides comprehensive and uniquely inter-related and coordinated services covering all aspects of security in the industrial, commercial, domestic, personal protection and investigation fields. It is represented in major centers throughout South Africa and provides planned security packages to suit individual clients’ requirements.
1.1 STATUS SECURITY GROUP & ASSOCIATED COMPANIES

Status Security Services specializes in Executive and V.I.P. Protection Services, Hostage/Kidnap Negotiation, Counter-Strike & Riot Control Management, Surveys, Risk Assessment, Turnkey Projects and Specification Consulting as well as Exhibition Security and Armed Guards.
1.4 STATUSGUARD SECURITY (SGS)
StatusGuard Security provides fully trained Security Officers, both armed and unarmed, for industrial, commercial and domestic applications. Very often, and depending on the client, site specific conditions and requirements, undercover agents are infiltrated into the guarding complement on a rotational basis as part of our proactive policy. Most senior management have been trained in MIM (Master-in-Mind) Human Investigative Management.
1.5 STATUS SECURITY SYSTEMS (SSS)
Status Security Systems undertakes:
Surveying, advising, supplying, installation and commissioning of most forms of electronic systems, e.g., alarms, CCTV, electric fencing, intercoms, public address systems, evacuation and gate automation systems, fire detection and panic systems. We also offer comprehensive maintenance and service programs for the above-mentioned applications.
1.6 WARDEN REACTION SERVICES (WRS)
Warden Reaction Services provides 24 hour armed response and patrol units, which react to alarms and other emergencies for individuals, businesses and other security companies. It also supplies a security es**rt service and an independent guard checking service for clients and other security companies.
1.7 CONTROL ROOM SERVICES
24 Hour radio & telemetry communication, off-site CCTV monitoring and alarm monitoring facilities, incorporating a 5 level redundancy/back-up alternative system. It also subcontracts to various other security companies.
1.8 INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH BUREAU (IRB)
Intelligence Research Bureau provides undercover and covert investigations into all aspects of suspected criminal, civil and financial activities, e.g. theft, fraud, financial probes and alienated and hidden assets. We also provide assistance for Industrial Relations information gathering and preemptive strike management. Matrimonial cases are also undertaken. A first class team of highly qualified investigators is utilized in organizing the elimination of problem areas and/or recoveries, independent and internal stock take verifications and audits, accident reports and insurance claims or fraud investigations. Which is supported where applicable, by the utilization of the latest hi-tech surveillance equipment. Debugging for aggressive recording devices and Truth Verification testing is also conducted by IRB.

BTC Training (Africa) Pty Limited is a progressive and dynamic South African company that forms part of the worldwide BTC Group of companies. Specialising in the design and production of crime prevention training seminars, business procedural manuals and associated products and services. 2. GROUP MANAGING EXECUTIVE - ALAN LEVITAS
Alan has been involved across the spectrum of the Security Industry, advising, protecting and supplying various security services to many key companies, industrialists, institutions (both local and international) and for numerous exhibitions and shows. He founded the Status Security Group in Johannesburg over 30 years ago. Alan is a graduate of the Institute of Security, a founder member of the VIP Protection Association of South Africa (VIPPASA) of which he was a National Chairman, a representative for the South African Security Federation (SASFED), past Vice Chairman of the South African National Security Employer’s Association (SANSEA), and past Treasurer and Vice Chairman of the Hotel & Casino Security Association (H&CSA). He is also a certified ISIO accredited M.M. Human Investigation Management facilitator (Train the Trainer) and has been very instrumental in introducing this programme to the SA security industry.
