The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union joins millions of South Africans to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Soweto Uprising. On this day in 1976 young people took it to the streets to fight against apartheid government. We have seen and lived the results.

Today we honor and salute the generation of 1976. Young people have a responsibility to take the country forward. Happy youth day.
