Mulch is one of the simplest yet most powerful tools a farmer can use when establishing a crop. By covering the soil surface, mulch acts as a natural shield, dramatically reducing water loss through evaporation. In a climate where every drop counts, this means less frequent irrigation, better moisture retention, and more resilient crops during dry spells.

Beyond water savings, mulch is a highly effective w**d suppressant. By blocking sunlight from reaching the soil, it prevents w**d seeds from germinating and competing with your crops for nutrients, water, and space. Fewer w**ds translate into lower labour and chemical costs, while allowing crops to grow without constant competition.

What is light diffusion ?

Light diffusion in greenhouses plays a critical role in creating an optimal growing environment for crops. Unlike direct sunlight, which can create harsh shadows and uneven temperatures, diffused light spreads evenly throughout the greenhouse, allowing plants at every level of the canopy to receive consistent light exposure. This results in improved photosynthesis, more uniform crop growth, and higher overall yields.

The importance of light diffusion extends beyond plant growth alone. By reducing hotspots and excessive leaf temperatures, diffused light helps lower plant stress and improves water-use efficiency. It also creates a more stable climate inside the greenhouse, reducing the risk of sun scorch and encouraging healthier, stronger plants. For growers, this means better crop quality, improved productivity, and more reliable results throughout the season.
