Mohammed is a senior commercial advocate and Head of Chambers at Group One, the largest set of chambers in South Africa. He has practised at the Bar since 1997 and has extensive experience in complex commercial, financial and regulatory disputes, appearing in matters before the High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court.

Mohammed is an accredited mediator with Conflict Dynamics and has mediated a range of complex commercial disputes involving both local and international parties. His extensive legal and commercial experience enables him to quickly understand the issues in dispute and assist parties in identifying practical, commercially sound solutions.

𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

On 2 September, Conflict Dynamics had the pleasure of bringing our mediators together for an in-person meeting in Cape Town.

It was wonderful to see people connecting, getting to know one another and exploring ways to collaborate and continue working together to promote mediation.

We also reflected on the impact of the Gauteng Directive and the increase in mediation referrals and matters being handled by our panellists. One of the most encouraging observations was the shift we are beginning to see in how mediation is perceived.

When the Directive was first introduced, mediators were often met with reluctance, and mediation could feel like a grudge purchase — something parties participated in because they had to, rather than because they saw its value.

Slowly, we are seeing a different dynamic emerge: a greater willingness to work collaboratively, to engage with the process, and to focus on working together against the problem rather than against each other.

There is still much work to be done, but this shift is encouraging. It reinforces the importance of continuing to build understanding, confidence and capability around mediation — and of creating opportunities for mediators to learn from and support one another.

Celebrating a new book by our panellist, Lindiwe Stacey

We’re delighted to share that our panellist Lindiwe Stacey is the author of a new book, 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺.

An honest and deeply personal account, the book traces Lindiwe’s journey through childhood, family, marriage, motherhood, career, love and loss — and the unexpected new beginnings that emerged along the way.

With courage and vulnerability, Lindiwe reflects on trauma, uncertainty and the challenges that have shaped her life, while exploring what it means to heal, grow and find hope when life takes an unexpected turn.

At its heart, 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺 is a story of becoming: a reminder that while our past may shape us, it does not have to define us, and that sometimes transformation begins when we find the courage to turn the page.

Our workshop on 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 as a Contributor to DEI&B was conducted for a client operating in the arena of assisting and supporting the banking industry and the public against financial crime. 50 participants across the organisation attended the training.
