Applications are now open for the position of Steel Manufacturing Shift Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the production shift, ensuring that daily manufacturing targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standard. The role covers direct oversight of sheet metal processing operations; including laser cutting, guillotining, bending, spot welding, and powder coating; as well as staff discipline, production planning, SHEQ compliance, quality control, and input into new product and prototype development.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in a mass manufacturing environment working with sheet metal
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with laser cutting, guillotining, bending, spot welding, and powder coating processes
• Relevant technical or production qualification advantageous (N4–N6, Production Management, or equivalent trade background)
• Proven experience supervising and disciplining shift staff in a factory environment
• Experience with shift or production scheduling and target-driven manufacturing
• Working knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) requirements in a manufacturing setting
• Experience in quality control and reject/rework reduction within a production line
• Exposure to prototype development or new product introduction in a sheet metal or similar environment
• Computer literacy for production reporting; ability to work shifts, including nightshift when required
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to enforce discipline fairly and consistently
• Sound understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes and equipment
• Good planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to SHEQ
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation
• Resilient, hands-on, and able to work under production pressure
