Who owns delivery of your strategic priorities?

Take a strategic priority and trace it into the budget and operational plan. Identify who owns implementation and how delivery will be measured.

The article connects institutional purpose, strategic choices and ex*****on. It explains why resource commitments matter and how oversight differs from day-to-day delivery, including the division between policy direction and implementation in public institutions.

Use those distinctions to examine accountability for your own priorities.

Who is accountable for your data?

Start with the information behind a critical report. Who sets the quality standards, reviews errors and takes responsibility for corrections?

IT maintains systems, while leadership defines data stewardship and oversees information risks. The article explains how those responsibilities connect to internal controls and personal-data protection.

Use the guide to frame a discussion between business teams, IT and the information officer about reliable records and clear ownership.

Read the data-governance guide.

Who provides assurance on each key risk?

Compare the risk register with planned assurance work. Identify who runs each control, who tests it independently and which risks still need attention.

The guide explains how an audit committee can coordinate internal and external audit scopes, reduce unnecessary overlap and follow up management's action plans.

Management still owns controls and remediation. Coordinating reviews does not guarantee complete coverage or a particular audit outcome.

Read the combined-assurance guide to review responsibilities and work plans.

Where do revenue records stop matching?

Trace a property or service record through the customer account, bill, payment and ledger. Where does the evidence stop matching?

The article's control-handover matrix identifies source records, verification evidence and responsible teams at each stage. Use it to locate weak handovers before choosing a wider improvement programme.

Keep billing corrections separate from cash received, and routine revenue administration separate from growing the revenue base.

Read the guide and review the matrix.

Today, we honour the traditions, stories and values that shape who we are.

Heritage Day is a reminder that while our backgrounds and cultures may be different, we share a common home, a shared history and a future we continue to build together.

Today, we honour the strength, courage and resilience of women — those who paved the way, those shaping the present, and those building the future.

On 9 August 1956, 20,000 women stood together and marched to the Union Buildings, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
At Kettle Consulting, we celebrate every woman who leads with purpose, challenges boundaries, creates opportunities and lifts others along the way.

Here’s to the women who came before us, the women beside us, and the women who will come after us.

Happy Women’s Day!💙

Sixty-seven years of service. That is what Nelson Mandela gave South Africa — and today, Mandela Day asks each of us for just 67 minutes in return.

From all of us at Kettle Consulting: however you serve today — a school, a shelter, a neighbour, a stranger — spend your 67 minutes where they make a difference. That is how a legacy stays alive.

A father's role is not only to protect and provide, but to guide, encourage, and prepare the next generation for the road ahead.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who help their children find the confidence to chase their dreams, explore new horizons, and create a brighter future.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Kettle Consulting. 💙

YOUTH DAY 2026 |

This Youth Month, we had the privilege of hosting our Youth Empowerment Initiative, bringing together 15 young people eager to learn, grow, and take meaningful steps toward their future.

A special thank you to Brandon and the Reimagine team for connecting us with unemployed youth from the community and helping make this initiative possible.

As we celebrate Youth Day, we are reminded that empowering young people goes beyond words—it requires investing in their potential, sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions around mindset, personal growth, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing, and business compliance. They explored the power of the conscious and unconscious mind, the importance of habits and goal-setting, how to identify opportunities and turn ideas into income, and practical strategies for building and growing a business.

We were honoured to welcome representatives from Nedbank, who shared valuable insights on personal banking, opening accounts, financial planning, and funding opportunities available to aspiring entrepreneurs. Their guidance helped the youth better understand how financial institutions can support both their personal and business journeys.

A sincere thank you to Nedbank RRB Greenstone and Bidvest International Logistics Greenstone for their generous gifts and contributions, and for partnering with us to make the day memorable and impactful for the youth.

A special thank you to the Kettle Consulting team for their dedication, collaboration, and commitment in making this initiative possible. Together, we remain passionate about empowering, creating opportunities, and helping build a future where individuals and businesses can thrive.

The future belongs to those who are willing to learn, adapt, and take action. We hope that every young person who attended left inspired, empowered, and ready to take the next step toward their goals.

Because the best time to start building your future is not tomorrow.

Happy Youth Day
The best time is NOW.
