Have you done a strategic review of your market, your career, job and environment> recently?
As the Hobbit remarks, you need to be aware of the unexpected bumps that may be coming down the track. If you are not up to date, or are ignoring the issues, take care that yo are not the recipient of a wet fish in the face (unforeseen unpleasant event.

Are you in touch with what is happening in the your surroundings? with current customers, friends. Suppliers, family.? Are you ignoring the elephant in your life, career, health or relationships?
Do you regularly do a a review of your market, your career, job and environment>?
As the Hobbit remarks, you need to be aware, in order to manage the kinks in the road. of the unexpected bumps that may be on the track. If you are not up to date, or are ignoring issues, take care that you are not the recipient of a (unforeseen unpleasant event… or in my terminology : the proverbial smack of a wet fish in the face !Anticipate, pl,an and act!

ACTION
Finally, no matter how loft your dream, and how specific your goals, and detailed and clear your plan, it is all a waste of effort without ACTION!

Action is not about working hard, it is about working smart – doing the right stuff. Too many business owners cost themselves a fortune by saving a wage. By working on the detail and repetitive tasks in the business they are depriving the business of strategic thought and action.
Employees should work In the business .. the function of the owner/manager is to Work ON the business,
You need to ensure that your staff is trained and competent and knowledgeable of the plan so that they are “hands on” in your business, while you are “Brain-on!”.

If you are working in your business instead of on it, you are costing yourself every day.

Can your plan deliver your dream??

PLAN
Now your goal must be broken down into detailed specific measurable details, you need to commit to measuring your progress.
How much profit is needed from what turnover? What range of products should be sold so to achieve this? What is the profit margin on each product group or item? Which y customers have the most potential for growth? This is the level of detail that you need to include in the plan with which products or services. Where will you find more of those prime customers? How many do you need in each category?

The main thing about a plan is that it needs to be available and clear to every person in your business . Everyone needs to focus on the goal and plan is.
If the plan is in the owner’s head, not written down, it tends to change continuously. When a plan is written down, it has weight and commitment.

Is the plan detailed and specific to the point where you cn give it to a potential investor, as it stands now? Is it a blueprint that is detailed enough that a qualified person could take over running your business for 6 months, smoothly and successfully? If you can’t answer “yes” to both these questions, your plan is not good enough.

If your response is that there isn’t time to write it down, you might want to ask yourself why there is always time to fix the problems that arise from the lack of detail and clarity in the plan.
Your plan needs to be able to stand in for you when you are not there.
