SOURCING / QUOTING
Through our established supplier network, buying power and proven track record, Sterling Export Corporation is able to source suitable products at attractive prices. If there is uncertainty as to the exact products required, our staff will carry out the necessary research and provide options to ensure that the procurement process ends satisfactorily. International Incoterms are adhered to and all quotations clearly detail the charges relating to product, freight, insurance and packaging. We offer flexibility in terms of Incoterms used, the most common being:
• CIF - Cost, insurance & freight
• CPT - Carriage paid to
• DDU - Delivered duty unpaid
• DDP - Delivered duty paid
ORDER PROCESSING / LOGISTICS
Orders are efficiently processed and the order status is closely monitored to ensure an accurate progress assessment for our clients. Sterling astutely manages their working capital and seeks to limit inventory holding. Stock is purchased as and when needed which has significant benefits. Firstly, it ensures that the operating costs of the company are kept lower and secondly, we supply only ‘up to date’ products. Orders are consolidated to reduce delivery times and to simplify the procurement cycle. DOCUMENTATION / PACKAGING
This aspect of the business is given every attention and serious scrutiny. Before any consignment is despatched, we ensure that all goods are adequately packaged and labelled to ensure safe transit to destination. If deemed necessary, wooden crating is allowed for. Relevant customs documentation by country is processed by Sterling Export Corporation. If goods are bonded, additional documentation is submitted for change of ownership and release thereof. DELIVERY / TRANSIT INSURANCE
Delivery modes most commonly used are overland and airfreight but we also make use of ocean freight and rail depending on the situation. Urgent consignments are sent by courier to ensure the fastest possible delivery time. Expediting the delivery of goods is identified as a competitive advantage in today’s business environment. We have trusted relations with reliable carriers who make every effort to move your cargo to final destination without undue delay. All despatch details are communicated to our clients and this information includes contact personnel and clearing agent details. The progress of all consignments is tracked for your benefit. Appropriate transit insurance is taken out and any claim for lost or stolen goods must be accompanied by an endorsed delivery note from your clearing agent.
