The National Bargaining Council for the Chemical Industryโs Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector collective agreement has been extended to non-parties, effective from March 2026 and running through to June 2027.
For employers in or adjacent to the FMCG value chain, this is an enforceable framework with wage minima, shift allowance obligations, leave entitlements, and levy requirements.
One of the more nuanced aspects of this extension is how it interacts with pay architecture.
There is a properly structured exemption route for employers who need it, but it has to be approached early and with credible evidence.
