CRIME ON THE RISE
Please be alert to crime in our surrounding areas:
There has been a dramatic increase in incidents in our surrounding areas ;
🔹Farmall and Chartwell: 2 x shooting incidents this week, where victims were shot multiple times. Our prayers are with the families involved in these traumatic incidents🙏. Items taken: Cell phone wallet and tv. Etc. This kind of aggression has not been seen for some time.
🔹A Well known and busy restaurant in Strubens valley: handbag snatched from under a ladies chair, suspects escaped.
🔹 Lady robbed in a large supermarket of a busy centre. Northgate.
🔹Vehicle theft/Hijacking incidents : Roodepoort, Krugersdorp, Malibongwe and Beyers naude, Ruimsig, etc. followed to petrol stations, or when victim stops at his/her destination, vehicle theft also at buisy venues where many vehicles park in overflow parking. Please try to park in guarded areas. It takes a mere 90 seconds to steal some vehicles.
Some of these vehicles are apparently use in CIT's, there has been at least 1 CIT per day since the beginning of January. If you can afford a good tracking system it is advisable especially if a family member is held in the vehicle. Ensure there is a simple means of activating this incase you are taken with the vehicle.
🔹Cell phone tower batteries, and cable theft, gate motors, as well as solar panel theft is taking place in many surrounding areas including Muldersdrift.
🔹 FARMERS: Live stock theft is on the increase : herd stolen this week in Zwartkrans: Recovered.
Herd of goats stolen : Driefontein,Muldersdrift during the night a few months ago. Not recovered. SAPS have a stock theft unit working with this.
These areas are a stone-throw away from us in Muldersdrift, please be vigilant of your surroundings, travel in groups if on foot or cycling, keep belongings out of sight or close to you at all times. Be aware of being followed and take evasive action...✊🏻Avoid becoming a target of opportunists.
🔹: Please check fences daily, ensure your alarm systems, panic buttons and electric fences are in working order and test them often. ▪️NB‼️Loadshedding depletes the battery life on your alarm/gates/garage doors etc.
Please report any suspicious activity on groups and to your security service provider.
