Your best defense is situational awareness. Here are crucial steps to keep yourself and your loved ones safe:

👀 Stay Alert: Always be hyper-aware of your surroundings when leaving public places, especially after shopping or completing financial transactions. Put your phone away and keep your head up.

🔀 Mix It Up: Criminals look for patterns. Avoid predictable routines by varying your travel routes and the times you travel whenever possible.

🚗 Watch Your Mirrors: Be cautious of any person or vehicle that seems to be following you over a distance or matching your movements.

🏡 Approach with Caution: When arriving home, take a moment to scan the street before pulling in. Never sit stationary in front of your gate or driveway for extended periods. Ensure your gates open and close quickly behind you.

🚓 Trust Your Gut: If you suspect you are being followed, DO NOT drive home. Instead, proceed immediately to the nearest police station, a busy well-lit area (like a 24-hour petrol station), and call for help.

🚨🔥 STOLEN VEHICLE INTERCEPTED BEFORE BORDER ESCAPE 🔥🚨

Location: Moloto Road, Kameeldrift

A swift, intelligence-driven operation involving Night Guard and specialised law enforcement partners led to the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of a suspect attempting to move it out of the Pretoria area.

Information was received regarding a stolen Nissan Navara allegedly being transported towards the border. Teams immediately verified the intelligence and strategically deployed along key exit routes.

🚗 Members later spotted a vehicle matching the description travelling along Moloto Road. After attempting to stop the vehicle, a brief pursuit followed before a successful tactical takedown was executed.

🔴 RESULTS:

• 1 Suspect arrested
• Stolen Nissan Navara recovered
• Cellphone seized as evidence

Further investigation confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Pretoria.

• Keep them informed. Ensure there are no surprises.
• Give them what they demand. Be honest about the amount of money which you can give them.
• Observe the robbers and try to gather information on their appearances, voices, language used, etc. Look at clothing, distinguishing marks, height and types of weapons, for example.

Another major success for our Tactical Team!

A coordinated response supported by Vumacam’s SafeCity network and Proof investigation platform assisted in the arrest of seven suspects linked to a kidnapping and common robbery case reported at Randburg South African Police Service (SAPS).

Using Vumacam’s investigation system, registration details linked to the suspect vehicles were identified and circulated to responding units. Both vehicles were monitored through the LPR network and intercepted by Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department - JMPD TRU, supported by Randburg SAPS and Night Guard Security.

The operation resulted in the recovery of cash, handcuffs, and security-style equipment allegedly used during the crime.

• Hair: Colour, length, and style (e.g., bald, curly, dreadlocks, ponytail).
• Facial Features: Did they have a beard, Mustache, scars, tattoos, or other marks?
2. Clothing Details
• Headwear: Were they wearing a cap, beanie, or hoodie?
• Upper body: What kind of shirt, jacket, or hoodie were they wearing? (colour, brand, or logo if possible).
• Lower body: What type of pants or shorts? (colour and style).
• Shoes: What type and colour of footwear? (sneakers, boots, sandals).
3. Pay Attention to Their Behaviour
• Walking style: Did they walk normally, with a limp, or very fast?
• Hand use: Did they seem left-handed or right-handed?
• Nervous gestures: Were they looking around frequently, avoiding eye contact, or acting suspiciously?
• Interaction: Were they alone or with others? Did they communicate with anyone (in person or on the phone)?
4. Vehicle Information (If Used)
• Type of vehicle: Was it a sedan, SUV, van, motorcycle, or another type?
• Colour: What was the primary colour? Any scratches, dents, or stickers?
• Make & Model: If you recognize the brand and model, note it.
• License Plate: Even part of the number can help.
5. Distinctive Marks & Accessories
• Jewellery: Did they wear rings, necklaces, or a watch?
• Tattoos: Any visible tattoos (location, design, wording)?
• Scars/Birthmarks: Any noticeable scars, marks, or deformities?
6. Last Known Location & Direction
• Where did you last see them? (street name, landmark, or building).
• Which direction did they go? (toward a certain road, into a car, into a crowd).
• Did they interact with anyone else?
