The debt review legislative process was implemented to provide protection to consumers burdened by debt. Debt review ensures that consumer assets, such as homes and cars, are shielded from repossession by credit providers when consumers are experiencing financial hardship. However, despite the legislative good intentions, a substantial number of consumers under debt review are exiting the process, requesting to be removed from debt review. The question we are posing to consumers is whether debt review is effective in assisting the millions of consumers currently enrolled in the program. If it is effective, why are so many consumers seeking removal from debt review, even when some of their debts remain unpaid? Moreover, why has the process of removing oneself from debt review become so complex? Did debt review genuinely provide you with assistance? If not, why? As a debt counselling company with over 15 years of experience, we are eager to hear from consumers about the advantages and disadvantages of debt review.
