Officer Masenya responded to an alarm activation in Riverside and received a commendation from a very happy customer. The customer had left for work not realising that she was being watched. A perpetrator jumped into the yard and took some keys from where she had left them. The door was opened but the alarm went off and the suspect fled. Officer Masenya called the customer and took the time to calm her down. He then did a check inside the property while on the phone to the resident, locked up the house and dropped the keys off at a nearby crèche at the request of the customer.

Signal transmission to the contact centre
• Call the Contact Centre and ask them to place your system on test mode to avoid unintended armed response dispatch
• Arm you security system, then open a protected door, window or trip the motion sensor
• Allow the alarm sound to go off for at least one minute
• Turn off the alarm system to reset it back to Ready Mode
• Call the Monitoring Centre to verify if the signal was received, should the signal not be received our dedicated Contact Centre staff will gladly assist with troubleshooting the system
