A client said to me, that she buys into the preservation of heritage textiles at a time when we question what real value is.

But I went on to explain that more than that, we are learning how to participate responsibly in cycles that will outlast us.

As each piece of cloth already carries their own unique story before it reaches our hands,
every woman who transforms it adds another chapter.

The next layer is extended to her, who wears it further carrying the story forward.

We are not owners of these materials, we are the temporary custodians.
Honouring the past, creating impact in the present. In this way our practice of stewardship ensures we are designing for a future where nothing of value is wasted.

Needless to say, she bought her garment beaming with pride, excited to add her story......

"Ethical fashion is being discussed as the future in most fashion weeks and spaces.

For some of us, it has been the work of the past decade.
Not as theory but as a practice.
Built from donated cloth, women’s hands, shared spaces, shared learnings, transference of skill and improbable faith.
Pioneering rarely looks glamorous while it is happening.
It looks like persistence.”

Sound Check ✔️

We talk about sustainability like it’s a trend.
But what if it’s actually a complete rethinking of value?

Today I’m speaking about The Sacred Economy—
a model we’ve been quietly building for the last 10 years through Sari for Change.

It started with something simple:
a pre-loved sari.

And then—
it becomes income, skill, dignity, and continuity.

This isn’t charity.
It’s not fast fashion with a conscience.
It’s an economy rooted in care,
where value is shared, not extracted.

Maybe the question isn’t what we buy—
but what we choose to value.

Earth Day 🌎

As the founder of Sari for Change, I’ve spent years witnessing the beauty of what already exists — fabric with history, hands with knowledge, ancient craft passed on and stories stitched into every thread.
And everyone moving through our space becoming an extension of that belief.

A second journey for this means:

A softer expression.
A more personal rhythm.
Pieces that move with you.
That honour where they come from.

That don’t rush to be consumed, but to be worn, lived in, remembered.

This Earth Day, I’m holding onto one simple truth:
we don’t need more.
We need deeper.

“Not every woman stayed. But every woman left changed.”

Around tables like these, something shifts.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve trained more than 100 women — not all stayed, but every single one left with something new in her hands, and something steady in herself.

It lives here — in shared meals, in learning side by side, in trying something new for the first time.
In being seen. In belonging.
This is the work.

We are opening up to collaborate with other NGOs, sewing groups, and community spaces who believe in skills-sharing, dignity, and collective growth.
If that’s you — let’s connect.

A reminder I keep coming back to…
Life feels uncertain. The future is unknown. There’s noise, pressure, and so much we can’t control.
But this — this moment — is ours.
These are the moments I choose to hold onto:
the laughter, the lightness, the quiet celebrations, the feeling of being fully here.
Not everything needs to be figured out.
Not everything needs to be certain.
We don’t get this moment back.
But we can choose presence.
We can choose to celebrate anyway.
Here. Now. Always 🤍
