REMINDER: Trust 2022 Filing Season - Provisional vs non-provisional taxpayers:

Members are reminded that in terms of public notice 2130 (https://bit.ly/3OWKRfs) which specifies the persons to submit income tax returns for the 2022 tax year and the periods for submission, the filing periods for Trusts are as follows:

• Trusts that are not registered for Provisional Tax - 1 July 2022 to 24 October 2022; and
• Trusts that are registered for Provisional Tax - 1 July 2022 to 23 January 2023.

We have received a number of questions from members regarding whether a Trust can be a non-provisional taxpayer. Read our Tax Alert (https://bit.ly/3vA83sW) for guidance on this issue.

SARS SECURITY SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS

SARS intends to roll out additional security features this week, provided the current testing is successful.

These measures include, inter alia, an extension of the One Time Password (OTP) feature to certain key updates done on the RAV form. Essentially, if an eFiler makes either a security contact detail or banking detail change on the RAV form, they will be requested to capture an OTP (to email or sms) for the changes to be submitted.

I would like to ask if there is any company / Business that would be willing to hire a Virtual Assistant. Currently asking input for a survey.
