Rooted in Strength. Bloom Fearlessly.

Our Women’s Day celebration was more than a moment to celebrate the women of XLink. It was a reminder of the strength we carry, the spaces we occupy, and the responsibility that comes with having a seat at the table.

Our theme, Rooted in Strength, Bloom Fearlessly, came to life through powerful reflections from our CEO, Dr. Thanusha Govender, and keynote speaker, Refilwe Nkabinde, Finance Director at Vodacom South Africa.

The day was also about recognising the women who came before us, the women standing alongside us, and those who will follow. Having a seat at the table is only the beginning. The real impact comes from what we do with that seat - the voices we amplify, the doors we open, the opportunities we create and the people we bring with us. It is about using our influence to create meaningful change today and a stronger path for those who come after us.

Our legacy is not simply the table we sit at, but the table we leave behind.

To our ExCO men, thank you for taking the time to celebrate with us and stand alongside the women of XLink.

Let’s keep growing. Keep challenging. Keep creating space and leave the baton stronger for the women who come after us.

“We did not change one thing at XLink. We changed everything.”

That is how our CEO, Dr. Thanusha Govender, describes the transformational journey of the business into becoming a diversified multi-industry, award winning, future-fit FinTelco technology company underpinned with bold thinking, deliberate strategic choices and precision ex*****on. This year she shared that thinking in three very different rooms. Wits Business School, GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) senior leadership programme with Valterra Platinum, and Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business.

The audiences could not have been more different, from MBA students to seasoned mining executives, but the core idea held. Corporate entrepreneurship is not a slogan, it is a constant model of reinvention that is intentional rather than incidental. With the students, the work was the discipline underneath it, diagnosing a business honestly before you act, and building the frameworks that turn ambition into delivery into market impact. With the seasoned operators, it was the harder, lived work of transformation, the move from running a business to reinventing one, and the truth that change only takes hold when it captures hearts and not only minds.

One line she keeps returning to. You constantly have to earn your seat at the table, because it is never automatically given. XLink earned its seat through every delivery and every interaction, and that is what she brought into each room.

Our thanks to Professor Boris Urban and the class at Wits Business School, to Dr Abdullah Verachia - Global Strategist, GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) and senior leadership cohort from Valterra Platinum, and to Trey McArthur, Kriss Ascanio Gomez and the Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business GATE group who travelled from the United States to be with us.

Every failed payment tells a bigger story.

It is rarely just a declined transaction. It is a customer walking away, lost revenue, damaged trust and a business forced to react instead of grow.

That is exactly why we brought our clients together.

Our annual Client Dinner was more than an evening of networking. It was a conversation about what the future of digital commerce in Africa should look like.

Our CEO, Dr. Thanusha Govender, opened the evening with a reminder that stayed with everyone in the room: transformation is not technology. Technology is simply the catalyst. Real transformation happens when people choose to think differently, challenge convention and work together to solve problems that matter.

She reminded us that no organisation - no matter how innovative - transforms an industry alone. It takes retailers, banks, fintechs, telecommunications providers, government and entrepreneurs coming together around one purpose: simpler, safer and more inclusive experiences for the people we ultimately serve.

And she reframed what XLink is really building. Not payments. Not connectivity. Confidence. The confidence a retailer feels when every point of sale stays connected during peak trading. The confidence a merchant feels when every payment processes without interruption. The confidence a customer feels when everything simply works.

The evening closed with a powerful reminder from our Chief Revenue Officer, Stephen Joannides.

“This is not a vision for tomorrow. It is a platform that is already live, already delivering secure connectivity, resilient payments and intelligent orchestration that keeps businesses moving.”

To our clients and partners, thank you for your continued trust. As Dr Govender said, every transformation begins long before the technology - it begins with trust. Your partnership is what challenges us to keep innovating, simplifying complexity and building secure, resilient, always-on digital commerce across Africa.

Together, we are transforming possibilities.
