An OB Book, or Occurrence Book, is a permanent, daily diary used by security guards, police, or watchmen to record everything that happens during their shift.

Think of it as the "official memory" of a security post, tracking all activities in order from the moment a guard starts duty until they leave.

Key Simple Terms:
What it does: Records hourly reports, incidents (theft, faults), patrolling, and handovers between guards.

Purpose: It ensures accountability, provides evidence in case of legal issues, and helps track recurring problems.

How it works: Entries are made in chronological order using permanent ink (no pencil), and it stays on-site, usually at the front desk or control room.

What goes into it: Time, date, details of the event, and the name of the officer on duty.
It is widely used to ensure that security personnel are documenting their actions for safety and legal compliance.
