I’ve been away, life called and I answered. Morocco is still coming.

November. 10 women. A homecoming like no other. I am back and we have work to do 🧡. AfricanDiaspora LuxuryTravel BlackWomenTravel TravelNoire Morocco

Last week I attended an art event in Braamfontein.

A drunk conversation about creativity and meaning.

It reminded me why I do what I do.

I am not just a travel operator.

I am a curator of experiences.

In theatres. In medinas. In riads in Morocco.

Wherever there is story — that is where you will find me.

November is coming.

There are Black people all over the world who carry Africa in their blood but have never touched the soil.

They grew up hearing fragments. A grandmother’s recipe. A word in a language nobody taught them. A feeling in a drumbeat that shouldn’t be familiar; but it is.

I travel for them.

Africa is not lost. She’s waiting.

June 16. A day that shaped everything.

My Father left this country on June 17, 1976 — one day after the Uprising. He went into exile, built a life, found love, had children. He trained and worked within the ANC structures, holding onto a homeland he hadn’t seen in years.

I came home in 1990. Months after Mandela walked free. I was a child who had never met the people who knew my name, who loved me before I knew their faces.

That homecoming? I have never felt that kind of joy again.

Today I walked through Soweto and I felt all of it. The history, the sacrifice, the love. And one question I keep coming back to —

Is this the freedom they imagined?

you ever stood in a room full of people and still felt like something was missing?

You know you come from somewhere — but you’ve never quite been able to touch it.

This is for you.

I have been many things in this life. A theatre practitioner. A dancer. A writer. A production coordinator. A mother of three.

In my different roles; I spent years telling other people’s stories on stage.

Then one day; I revisited my vision board and Africa asked me to tell hers.

That’s how Hanging with Sis Kholi was born. Not from a business plan. From a calling.

I create immersive, story-led experiences across Africa. For travellers who don’t just want to see a place — they want to understand it. Feel it. Carry it home.

If that’s you — stay close. 🧡.
