This is going to be a great day of learning, sharing and connecting and being inspired.
Take your coaching and self-awareness to the next level
Ontological Coaching Tune-Up Seminar
To stay relevant and to keep adding value to its clients a business must continuously be innovating and refining its approach, products and services. The world is changing at breakneck speed and staying relevant is becoming increasingly difficult no matter what your field of expertise. Being a coach is no different. If you are to continuously be adding value and refining your approach, you must be consistently learning and growing as a person and as a coach.
It is with this in mind that The SOAR Institute is offering a one-day seminar to all our graduate Ontological Coaches and every other coach and individual who is interested in expanding their knowledge base, self-awareness and deepening their coaching interactions.
Topics:
Limbic Resonance - How it applies to coaching.
Attachment Theory - A basis for understanding how early attachment bonds affect every other relationship later on in life.
Introduction to Poly-Vagal theory and the role of the Vagus nerve in relation to trauma and other areas.
Exploring the mind as a basis for repeated patterns and outcomes.
Presenting and facilitating the Ontological way.
An introduction to OKR’s (Objectives and Key Results) as a method for goal setting and goal attainment.
Limbic Resonance - Emotional contagion, also called limbic resonance, is a neat evolutionary trick mammals developed as social animals.
“Within the effulgence of their new brain, mammals developed a capacity we call ‘limbic resonance’ — a symphony of mutual exchange and internal adaptation whereby two mammals become attuned to each other’s inner states. -A General Theory of Love”
We have a built-in Application Programming Interface, (API)that lets us pick up other’s emotions “in the cloud.” Limbic resonance is the ability to exchange and attune to deep emotional states through the limbic system, an area of the brain responsible for emotion, behaviour, and motivation.
Attachment Theory - Attachment theory is focused on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly long-term relationships, including those between a parent and child and between romantic partners. John Bowlby was the first attachment theorist, describing attachment as a "lasting psychological connectedness between human beings." Attachment is an emotional bond with another person. Bowlby believed that the earliest bonds formed by children with their caregivers have a tremendous impact that continues throughout life.
Polyvagal Theory - Polyvagal theory is a collection of evolutionary, neuroscientific and psychological claims pertaining to the role of the vagus nerve in emotion regulation, social connection and fear response. According to Stephen Porges, PhD, not only does the body remember a traumatic experience, but it can actually get stuck in the trauma response mode.
The Mind - An exploration into how the mind works at a basic level and more importantly how this understanding gives insight into why we behave in the manner that we do and why it is so difficult to change certain behaviours. How to use a deeper understanding of the mind in your coaching to bring about better results.
Presenting and Facilitating the Ontological way - How using way of being consciously in a group or team coaching scenario enhances outcomes. Understanding what facilitation is as different from team coaching and presenting, and how to integrate all three into your coaching practice.
OKR’s - Objectives and Key Results (OKR) is a critical thinking framework and goal setting methodology that helps companies and individuals align goals and ensure everyone is working collaboratively on goals that really matter. One of the key differences between OKRs and KPIs is the intention behind the goal setting. KPI goals are typically obtainable and represent the output of a process or project already in place, while OKR goals are somewhat more aggressive and ambitious.
