IKS Cultural Consulting

IKS Cultural Consulting IKS is a specialist cultural management agency within the arts, primarily in the music sector, estab Andre le Roux founded IKS Cultural Consulting in 2004.

He then worked on arts and heritage projects for the City of Johannesburg and the Transnet Foundation. This involved reawakening heritage through the arts, a fresh look at the cultural calabash in Taung, in collaboration with the Mmabana Arts Culture & Sports Foundation to produce a festival. The value created for the Transnet Foundation was from a Corporate Social Investment point of view. The Ro

rkesdrift heritage training project revived the Rorkesdrift center with Create SA and Fugitives Drift Lodge, part of the Anglo Boer War by Isandlwana, Mzinyathi river. Most of the tour guides were white so ALR trained them from an Afro-centric point of view from 2004 - 2006. He assisted in building the South African Music Expo and registered it. On behalf of the DAC, he administered the formation of the Association for Independent Record Companies (AIRCO) as the only association of independent record companies with predominantly black membership. Today, AIRCO has 30%-40% Needletime royalties share in the market. This project involved conducting a benchmarking exercise that looked at the American Independent Music organisation as the best practice model then the international association of independence in the UK. They formed Merlin, the biggest collection society for independent record companies fighting multinational record companies. He was part of the formation of Music Managers Forum South Africa assisting in registration, strategic plans and governance. AIRCO took a year to pay ALR for the work he did. Luckily, he had already secured employment at the Southern African Music Rights Organisation. The company became dormant until KLR took over as the managing member in 2010 where she added an artist promotion component to IKS that boosted their audience base whilst assisting restaurants and festivals to increase their brand value. The other income stream was administering research projects.

Andre Le Roux is representing both IKS and Concerts SA at On the Move's Cultural Mobility Forum taking place in Skopje, North Macedonia. This gathering will be centred around conversations on cultural mobility justice, how mobility inequalities also impact Southeast Europe and how local cultural actors are redefining autonomy, solidarity and exchange.

This week-long engagement wraps up a discourse-packed month of April at the IKS Headquarters.

In one week, the Cultural Mobility Forum gathers in Skopje, North Macedonia, a city shaped by layered histories, regional solidarities and artistic resilience. Hosting the Forum here is not just symbolic, but it’s relevant too.

As conversations on cultural mobility justice unfold, we’ll also look at how mobility inequalities also impact Southeast Europe and how local cultural actors are redefining autonomy, solidarity and exchange.

📍29–30 April 2026

Pune, what a night of jazz it was! 🎶🎺

Edition 6 of the World Jazz Festival lit up the city, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible Partners in Rhythm. Huge gratitude to our Associate Sponsors Kirloskar Oil Engines, Forbes Marshall, Thermax and our Supporting Partners Weikfield and Jehangir Hospital for backing this vision of unforgettable live music.

We came together at Pune International Centre, Pashan, for an evening filled with soul, sound, and pure musical magic. ✨

Thank you, Pune, for making it housefull and unforgettable ❤️

Explore the charm of The Barn Theatre at the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex! Discover why it's a must-visit for music and culture enthusiasts in the Eastern Cape.

While the Opera House boasts grandeur, "The Barn" offers an intimate, cabaret-style experience where the audience feels every note. It is the cherished home of the Jazz'Afro Sundays sessions.

Originally nicknamed "The Barn" in tribute to the city's first Theatre Royal (which locals affectionately called "The Barn" in the 1800s), this venue sits on a site of immense history - dating back to 1892. It stands today as a survivor of the Victorian era and a beacon for modern South African jazz.
