FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Honouring Mandela Through Action

Inspired by Nelson Mandela's belief that the true measure of life is the difference we make in the lives of others, the 67CEOS Foundation 10th Mandela Day Business Social Contract Roundtable seeks to move beyond dialogue and towards practical commitments that strengthen entrepreneurship (job creator) communities and contribute to sustainable development.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with leading corporate executives, thought leaders, and development practitioners while exploring collaborative solutions that advance South Africa's social and economic progress.

A Strategic Platform for Corporate Partners

As the Foundation enters its second decade, it is calling on corporate South Africa to deepen its support for entrepreneurship and community development initiatives.

Corporate partners have an opportunity to align with programmes that deliver measurable impact while advancing environmental, social and governance objectives, enterprise and supplier development goals, youth empowerment, innovation and inclusive economic participation.

Supporting the Foundation provides organisations with access to a trusted platform that connects business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and development stakeholders around practical solutions that contribute to national development priorities.

For sponsors, the Roundtable offers strategic visibility among senior decision-makers, thought leaders, investors and entrepreneurs while demonstrating a tangible commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.

A Compelling Story for South African Media
For media organisations, the Roundtable presents a timely and newsworthy platform at the intersection of entrepreneurship, governance, innovation, sustainability and economic development.

With South Africa seeking practical solutions to unemployment, inequality and economic inclusion, the event offers valuable insights from leaders who are actively shaping the future of business and society.

The Foundation invites business, financial, development, technology and mainstream media platforms to attend, cover and participate in the conversations that will help define the next chapter of entrepreneurship development and corporate citizenship in South Africa.

Gauteng MEC to Champion Entrepreneurship as a Driver of Inclusive Economic Growth

Adding a strong provincial government perspective to the 10th Mandela Day Business Social Contract Roundtable conversation, Ms Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, will join the high-level panel discussion on: The Importance and Impact of the Entrepreneurship Support Ecosystem.

As the political head of the department responsible for advancing economic development, industrialisation, investment promotion, agriculture and enterprise development in South Africa's economic hub, MEC Ramokgopa brings a strategic perspective on the policies, partnerships and interventions required to unlock entrepreneurship-led growth.

Her participation reflects Gauteng Provincial Government's commitment to creating an enabling environment where entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses can thrive through stronger collaboration between government, the private sector, development finance institutions and ecosystem partners.

The discussion is expected to explore how coordinated entrepreneurship support can accelerate business formalisation, stimulate innovation, expand market access, attract investment and create sustainable employment opportunities, particularly for young people, women and township enterprises.

For South Africa's SME and startup sector, the role of government extends beyond policy formulation. It is about building an ecosystem that reduces barriers to entry, strengthens enterprise competitiveness and fosters collaboration that enables businesses to grow from survival to scale.

By participating alongside leaders from the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the National Mentorship Movement (NMM) and the private sector, MEC Ramokgopa reinforces the importance of public-private partnerships in building a resilient entrepreneurship ecosystem capable of driving inclusive economic growth and shared prosperity across Gauteng and the country.

Her contribution complements the Roundtable's broader objective of translating Nelson Mandela's legacy into practical action by strengthening the partnerships that empower entrepreneurs, stimulate local economies and create lasting social and economic impact.
