Inner Voice Creative is a completely different organization now than when I started it in July 2018. In the beginning, I offered photographic exhibition management and curation services. Creating an exhibition for organizations that wanted to use creativity to share a very important message. Photography has an amazing way of breaking down barriers. We created, curated, and exhibited exhibitions fo

r St John South Africa, )Lunar, and SA Fashion. We also worked with photography foundations like The Market Workshop and the World Press Photo Foundation in bridging the gap between African creatives and the world. In January 2020, I realized that in order to amplify the voices of Creatives in Africa we need to walk alongside them first. Our approach changed just as the world was swept by a pandemic. I moved from representing Creatives to walking alongside them. Today we have helped Creatives started the right business, tap into their creativity, and create a lasting impact in their communities. Cross-sell strategy 🤓 for existing customers

1. Give feedback + quick wins early.

2. Don't discount your rate for the upsell, increase your value. Give them a reason to stay.

I realized something today. After 4 years of working to keep my profitable, I realized why I work so diligently...

More specifically, I realized WHO I work so diligently for. I work for individuals who know their worth and are not shy to ask for it. They look like , , , 3programmers, crafters, , marketers, and some days, dog walkers.

It’s an honor to be able to work with talented Creators who know who they are, what they are on this earth to create, and most important, understand the value $$ of their work.

The biggest improvements in my business have all stemmed from conversations we had in one of our Creative Connection groups on focusing on one. 

🌱 1 product

🌱 1 type of client type

🌱 1 sales strategy

🌱 1 time segment of the day

So I set myself a challenge to do just that. 

For 21 days I focused on 

🌱 1 product - coaching session

🌱 1 client - Writers

🌱 1 sales strategy - Twitter DM's

🌱 1 time segment of the day - set up 15 minutes a day (6 pm - 6:15 pm) for my sales activities. 

The result? 

A massive 32% sign-up rate from international clients and most surprisingly, I’m getting direct messages for my services from people outside of my network. 

The strategy 🌱

I used strategy of creating a habit loop to boost my sales activities and to reduce my overwhelm of hustling 24/7 to make rent.

This single strategy has improved not only my cash flow but my overall mindset on how to run a Creative business of one. You don’t have to kill yourself to get people to buy from you or spend countless hours on social to promote your work. There is an easier way. 

Build your momentum slowly and consistently. I must warn you - this is a long-term strategy. There are few short-term gains but the long-term rewards are much sweeter. Hello, evergreen marketing. 

So, I have a question for you - What can you do in 15 minutes a day to grow your business?
