We are delighted to announce that De Grendel will be joining us at this year's Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival, helping us to celebrate our 30th anniversary with two of their amazing wines:
• De Grendel Koetshuis Sauvignon Blanc - Pale straw in colour with a fresh and invigorating nose, the wine displays aromas of sour pineapple, fresh honeydew cantaloupe, Packham’s pears and an underlying creamy richness from extended lees contact. This complex and multidimensional wine will develop in both the glass and the bottle with time. The subtle creaminess makes the Koetshuis the perfect companion to veal, with a creamy white wine and chive sauce, octopus salad, smoked trout or pan-fried scallops.
• De Grendel Rubaiyat. Fresh cigar box, blueberry crumble, dark chocolate and a hint of aniseed. The smooth and textured tannins are bold but well-rounded and rich. Dark and red berry fruit such as raspberries, black currants and mulberries are underpinned by sundried black olives and dried lavender. The acidity adds vigour and balance, while lending length and elegance. Pairs perfectly with Chateaubriand, Boeuf Bourguignon or Beef Wellington.

Iona winemaker Werner Muller takes no credit for how delicious his wine is but rather credits the vineyards and the fruit. Some of Iona’s top wines will be showcased at The Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival on 5 & 6 May at Summer Place, Hyde Park, including their Elgin Highlands Pinot Noir, fragrant and perfumed with lovely guitar string intensity and pairs well with rare meats or poultry and their Solace Syrah, a biodynamic wine which is red cherries, berries and white spice and a totally different take on the Syrah. We are delighted to announce that Holden Manz Wine Estate will be participating in the Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival this year!
