This week we focused on the Core Value of Building Relationships ... because great relationships lead to great referrals. And it showed, with over R400 000 in closed business shared between members in just one week. That’s the power of BNI.

Katrina’s Edu-slot gave some great tips on how to make weekly presentations more engaging and memorable, while we also celebrated members for their ongoing energy and commitment to growing this awesome chapter.

Big shoutout to Fleur from Fleur Wood Interior Design and Johan from Mastermend Plumbers for renewing their memberships and continuing the journey with us.

Our Feature Presenter, Priscilla from Ready2Thread Embroidery, really stitched together a fantastic presentation this week. She showed us how a professionally embroidered logo on your swag helps lift your brand, gets your business noticed, and leaves a lasting impression wherever you go. A great reminder that quality branding always stands out.

We ended with a fond farewell to our favourite baker, Helen. We’ll miss the treats and smiles, and wish her all the best in her future adventures.

What a relaxed and fun meeting we had on Wednesday, with our President Anthony back in the driver’s seat after being stranded on the Gautrain last week.

Katrina’s Edu-slot gave us a brilliant reminder for our 60-second presentations ... focus on one thing at a time, even if you repeat it for two weeks in a row, because repetition isn’t boring, it’s branding. The more people hear it, the more they remember it.

We also celebrated some fantastic member recognition with Ambassador Lucy congratulating our top performers, and we proudly welcomed two new members to the BNI Dynamite family: Andria, a short-term insurance broker, from Innovation Wealth Financial Services, and Andisha from Postnet.

This week’s presentations focused on the tools we use in our businesses, which turned into a fun and engaging Growth Team activity.

Our feature presenter, Janica from Wilkens Accounting Solutions, gave a great presentation on understanding taxes, SARS deadlines, and how her team can take the stress out of dealing with the taxman.

With our President Anthony unexpectedly stranded on the Gautrain in the middle of nowhere, Andrea from ADP Architects stepped confidently into the driver’s seat and skillfully kept the meeting right on track.

Jaap from Inspired by Nature shared his favourite BNI Core Value ... Accountability ... and why it’s such an important part of building trust in business, and Colin followed up with a polished weekly presentation that ticked all the right boxes.

The Edu-slot touched on how your 60 second presentations should teach members how to refer you ... not just what you do. Focus on the who, how, and why: who to refer; how to spot the need; what to say for a great introduction.

Our featured presenter, Vanessa from GingerGraphix, took the floor and showed us how powerful branding really is. People don’t hook onto facts ... they connect with the story behind them, and that’s exactly what our DC, Ilzé, unpacked n in today’s BNI Dynamite training session.

The big takeaway? Keep it simple and sharp. Focus your weekly 60-second presentation on one or two key services instead of a long, complicated list ... it makes it so much easier for members to spot those quality referrals. And don’t say the same thing every week ... we all switch off when we know what’s coming.

Also ... don’t be shy during your presentation, and let the room know what you’re really good at. Confidence builds trust, and trust builds business.

Another eye-opening session packed with golden nuggets to help us grow individually and as a chapter.

What a fantastic meeting! We were treated to a great feature presentation from Blu of Cloudways, highlighting just how important it is to have the right IT solutions company in your business corner, and honestly, if you missed it ... you missed out.

Christine from Kidz Inc reminded us why a Positive Attitude is one of her favourite BNI Core Values, and how it truly shapes the way we do business.

Katrina’s Edu-slot was, as always, insightful ... showing how chasing perfection can actually hold us back. That email you keep tweaking? Rather send the follow-up and keep things moving than wait too long and miss the moment.
